Well Wii U will also be selling, so I'd expect it to make 2 million by the end of the year in USA?

PS4 could beat that if the supply holds up.

Yeah this was the first thing I thought when the Project: Cafe (Wii U rumors) started leaking, I thought "please Nintendo don't be dumb enough to launch another PS3/360 level console, the market for that is completely saturated unless you have a miracle controller under your sleeves again".

Casuals have betrayed Nintendo for $1 games and there was way too much of a focus on overly cartoony games too IMO. Mario is fine, but Nintendo Land, Rayman, Sonic, LEGO City, etc. gave the impression of a console for kids, which is something not even kids want once they get to about age 11. 

They needed to have a GoldenEye a realistic Zelda or worst-case, even a Metroid Prime in the console's first year to go with Mario.

The nearest Wal-Mart still "has more units" but they are keeping them until Black Friday so they have the units them. So it my guess they are not expecting anymore shipments between now and then.

Yeap, it was entirely dependant on the trend of consoles with more games rated 85+ on Metacritic but costs less not being outsold near instantly because of nothing but hype.

Joke, obviously. But I am studying game design and generally my style has a leaning of "wacky, but fun-focused at the core". I get warned it is "comparable to Nintendo, likely to get more high scores than sales".

You know PS4 has indie titles and will have more?

Rainbow Moon, "wacky, but fun-focused at the core", like you call it, was one of my VERY favorite titles on the PS3. I don't why some think fun titles are only available on Nintendo consoles!

Lol, that is quite sad.  I don't know why Nintendo fans should be upset.  Nintendo still rules the handheld market.  Sony usually rules the home console market.  Seems fair.

Wow, I was expecting great sales, but 1M+ in one day in one region.  I think the PS4 is going to sell more than 3M-4M+ WW this year if they can keep supply up.  Then, we still have more launches next year.  I can definitely seeing them outselling the Wii U by the end of March, if they can keep up with supply.

Also, I wonder if MS will be announcing launch day sales.  They definitely have a tough act to follow.
