Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Can Nintendo pump out 1 Wii U exclusive per month in 2014 ?

Does Smash Bros count as an exclusive? I guess it's different enough on Wii U.

You could add Yarn Yoshi to your OP, that's a strong possibility for 2014.

Almost forgot about that. I believe the game will have a lesser hardware impact than Brawl and sell way less.

What's with you guys... Monolith soft's X is not coming out any time soon. Maybe in the summer earliest or you would of heard it on the Nintendo Direct.

You wouldn't have because they specifically said you wouldn't before their latest direct. Regardless, we didn't hear about any other 2014 Wii U games so it means nothing.

We know that ...

Donkey kong is February 2014.

Bayonetta 2 is suppose to be March 2014

Mario Kart 8 is April 2014

Super Smash brothers Wii U is suppose to be Q1 or Q2 (June 2014)

X is simply 2014 (August?)

Watch dog could be the big may release

Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem - July 2014?

Steel diver will probably be out next year. Rejoice!

Not that your post has anything to do with what I said, but sources please?

That's a bad idea, I remember Sony doing that back in 2011 for the PS3. They had a game come out almost every month, and half of them ended up bombing because of the lack of advertising. Nintendo shouldn't spread themselves too thin.

Problem is Nintendo doesn't have much third party SW so it's probably the best idea going forward.

They need to be more inventive with their marketing footprint. Whatever game comes out first next year (Donkey Kong?) they need to include a small leaflet with all upcoming WiiU games and offer some incentive.

I think you are right..

and what a nice avatar...

6 - Fire Emblem x SMT

8,9,10,11,12 - Likely minor projects, compared to the large scale of Tokyo EAD and Retro Studios. Stuff like Pandora's Tower or Forgotten Memories. Maybe download only titles ala Dillon, or Tetris. But still relevant enough to add value to the line up.

FE X SMT isn't likely to be ready for 2014, and that is if Sega gives the greenlight. Sega might not be in good terms with Ninty right now.

Besides, given the hard time they're having with HD developement, I doubt they can increase their output that much.

This has been my theory for a long time, that in order to have a successful console the manufacturer has to give it 8-10 AAA 1st party games in a single year. This is what Sony hasn't done with the Vita and that's why it's struggling so bad. This is also what Nintendo hasn't done with the Wii U (thus far). There is no doubt in my mind though, that Nintendo understands this and that it has started doing just that. Starting with Zelda Wind Waker HD till the end of 2014 - this is the time frame that will decide the fate of Wii U. And I feel it's gonna be awesome. Can't wait for Nintendo to cut the price so that Wii U reaches a price that it's actually worth so I can get one.

To sum up - yeah, this is exactly what Nintendo has to do and what it is doing. We are gonna get around 10 AAA games and a bunch of smaller titles like the minigames collections, stuff like Mario Football, etc. I have no doubt Wii U will pick up thanks to this. I just hope Sony learns a lesson out of this and give Vita similar treatment ASAP :(

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Don't forget Yarn Yoshi.
