Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS4 and XBONE are in for the same drought as WiiU

Correct if I'm wrong but I believe Wii Fit U, Party U, and Wario Ware were also in the launch window. I think another factor to take into account was that there wasn't anything to look foward to on Wii U until E3 arrived, so having games delayed for the system is a bigger deal than for XB1/PS4, as they already have big names like MGS5/KH3/Uncharted/FF15/etc. to look foward to. I think that's a factor for maintaining hype and interest in a console, and is why Nintendo had no choice but to announce games like Yarn Yoshi and SMT x FE that we've not heard about since.

PS4/XBO has multiplats and downloadable games. And isn't it a little too early to judge the exclusives on Xbox One since it hasn't even been released yet?

Isn't Infamous out in February rather than March?

As for downloadable games. They have been the main highlight of 2013 for me. Hotline Miami has blown me away.

Great

Volgar the Viking is the downloadable title that impressed me the most but i simply didn't count them as they don't add much value to the console in the eye of the general consumer

First year buyers are not general customers. At least most.

Yes but those people didn't buy the console for downloadable titles (for the most part)

Still a plus. Resogun <3

No. WiiU didn't have a drought if you just count any old games. WiiU had a drought in decent noticeable software, something xbox one definitely does not have.

December: Halo SA, Peggle 2, Xbox Fitness
January: D4, Spinal DLC for KI
February: Rayman Origins, Thief
March: Titanfall, Fulgore DLC for KI, Elder Scrolls Online
April: PVZ Garden Warfare, Kinect Sports Rivals

Q1/Q2: Project Spark, Watchdogs, Fantasia and Destiny

yeah i never got that, WIi U had a lot of games at launch. If a drought was such a big issue, why didnt people buy those?!

Hahahahaha.

WiiU lanches without the ability to play 8th gen games, and doesn't showcase any graphical prowess over the much cheaper, and already established, PS3 and xbox.

Saying it is down to simply how many games are out is just wrong. People here are really clutching at straws trying to big up the WiiU.

You are the epitome of dumb AND ignorant, lol.

Developers like Criterion, Slightly Mad Studios, Ubisoft, Shinen, and many others have already stated that they are only utilizing 1 of the Wii U's 3 cores. The things Criterion was able to do with Need For Speed Most Wanted U are just absolutely stunning and blow PS360's version out of the frickin' water! Give it another year or two when developers have learned the hardware inside and out and start developing better engines more geared twoards the Wii U's architecture and start utilizing those other two cores. Oh man are we in for some treats in the future!

Once games like Monolith Soft's "X" (this game alone will be worth buying a Wii U for,) Bayonetta II, Smash Bro's, Zelda U, Human Element, Watch_Dogs, and many others, you will be eating your words and they will be like ash in your mouth.

I am so excited for the next few months!!! Can't wait until Spring for these games to start dropping! I feel sorry for you, lol...

Sony will have a steady stream of indie games coming to their console in the following months. Not sure about Microsoft, but they should have arcade games as well. The eShop was in such a pitiful state that it could not support the WiiU.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

This only happens because they think its a good idea to have 20+ titles at launch

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Probably because those games were late and or inferior ports, basically not games worth buying a system for. XB1/PS4 wont have this problem because their games are releasing close enough and are the superior versions.

indie games aren't games right? (...)

Your sig chick should make a cameo in Bayonetta 2.
