Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS4 and XBONE are in for the same drought as WiiU

My opinion on that matter is irrelevant to the subject of this thread. Are you now going to self-report for taking the thread off topic?

Practice what you preach then as your last comment is totally not needed, which falls under derailing.

Now, do you want to talk about the subject of the thread with me? I'm not agreeing with OP, how about you?

I'm not sure what comment you are referring to but my opinion on the thread matter was clearly stated in the post you quoted, you simply chose to bold a single line and make some off topic sig comment. Just gonna tune you out in this thread now, you're off on some tangent.

Not sure where your hostility is coming from? It's just a discussion about video games. No hard feelings. You replied to a comment he made to me, which is why i replied to you in turn. I bolded the line because it was/is too beautiful to ignore, you'll know why in the coming months.

I first commented in here talking about how i don't see the PS4 and Xbone repeating the same situation as the WiiU, as those two have gathered more interest and are basically gonna eat into most of the sales the WiiU could have had.

No offense, but this an obvious Nintendo bias outlook. A simple look at PS4/ XBone game preorders in the US alone prove how wrong this statement is. Not only are there tons more games being released on the systems from here on out, they're also going to sell substantially better than the Wii-U. Wii-U is last gen hardware with nothing but poor third party ports and the same old same old Nintendo first party titles releasing for it. Third party support isn't an issue with the PS4/ XBone and that's going to become more and more apparent as the next gen consoles move on and leave the Wii-U behind.

Sure they'll have tons of games later on, but there is a drought

As for last gen hardware that is only half true as most of the WiiU hardware is a combination of different pieces and parts that are still not known for the most part

Third Parties will be very active on PS4/XBONE but that doesn't mean that WiiU will be left behind, if Nintendo manages to maintain a pace similar to that of 2014 through 2015/2016 the WiiU will probably lead but doing that is Nintendo's job not mine

bet with ash3336 he wins if Super Mario 3D World sells less than Mario Sunshine during the first three years, I win if 3D World outsells Sunshine's first 3 years. Loser get sig controlled for 3 months (punishment might change)

Do you doubt the WiiU? Do you believe that it won't match the GC?

Then come and accept this bet

So you are ignoring downloadable games then?

Yes, i simply don't feelas if the affect the console much

Not sure if serious....

I am serious look at TLoZ WW HD, when it was released digitally WiiU picked up a little, the physical release gave WiiU a huge bump

Unless the game is super popular not many people buy a console for a digital title

I think that there's a need to add "I hope for" at the end of this thread's title. In no way will PS4 and Xone suffer from such terrible support in their first year. What happened to the WiiU is unprecedented and has had its consequences. Most third parties will be ready to support these consoles after seeing such massive sales. Nintendo themselves weren't able to support their console, why would third parties do it?

Wii U will have more of these droughts from now until its final days. Jusstl ook at Wii's final 3 years, but make it worse, way worse.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

The 2014 line up for PS4 and Xbox one is pretty sketchy at the moment - at least in the early months. Drive Club, Infamous and Titan Fall are likely to be some quality exclusives, but thats 2 games in 3 months. If the consoles launch strong though I'm sure some of the games delayed from 2013 will be clamouring for a release around then though - Watch Dogs, The Crew etc as well as stuff like Witcher 3.

I think a key difference for draughts between Xbox One / Ps4 and Wii U is online - downloadable games are a bigger deal to PS4 / Xbox owners and will easily fill any void of retail releases. And of course, online gaming is a bigger deal too, I'll still be playing Killzone and FIFA 14 online well into March next year and beyond, so while a draught sucks it's not like I can't use my console lol.

Hahahahaha.

WiiU lanches without the ability to play 8th gen games, and doesn't showcase any graphical prowess over the much cheaper, and already established, PS3 and xbox.

Saying it is down to simply how many games are out is just wrong. People here are really clutching at straws trying to big up the WiiU.

Wii U games are 8th gen, categorically. To state otherwise is revisionism.

No it isn't. The Wii U gets 7th gen ports so why instantly is everything on it 8th gen? They arent. If I go and play MGS on my PS3 its not suddenly a 5th gen console is it? Its a 5th gen game on a 7th gen console. Im waiting for a real 8th gen game to appear on the wiiu as everything at the moment seems to be just what the xbox and ps3 can already do.

I meant games developed for Wii U originally.
