Haha, really? I read through those reviews and a lot of them seem like pure bullcrap.

One guy even says the red line of death (which only indicates when the console is warm, and does not brick the console) and then says they should have put the power brick outside the console. Sounds suspiciously like xb1 praise to me.

I would take those negative (and probably positive) reviews on amazon with a grain of salt, its either fanboys who love the console or hate the console.

You could be right, but Xbox fans usually aren’t as aggressive with the online BS.

So... I'm going to wait and see how this plays out. But I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the PS4 has a fairly high failure rate.

well you should pretty much ignore most video reviews on amazon, unless it says they have a verified purchase of the product. those are the only reviews i give credence to.

so if a bunch of people who actually bought the ps4 from amazon said their ps4 broke, then i would be worried.

I don't usually do this, but this thread is hilarious.

The PS4 launch games were few and not reviewed great. Some people are having problems with launch consoles. The overhyped (probably mostly by one Geoff Keighley for completely self serving reasons) launch day announcements were underwhelming.

DEAL WITH IT! It's a launch. Overhyping this thing as the work of the gods ('Greatness Awaits' ... really???) was unwise and now some of you are having a hard time dealing with the backlash. These are consoles at launch, not the next step in human evolution. DEAL WITH IT!

if the failure of ps4 is widespread, obviously thats an issue. but we should withhold judgement just yet.

as for the launch event, i think most people new it wasnt going to be much, but as you said a few people like Keighly did hype it, but just a few.

as for the games. i dont know about knack, i havent played it, but i have been playing killzone, and i definitely think its way underrated, and is definitely the best military shooter this year. by far best campaign. and has great multiplayer.

its definitely a mid 80's game. but some reason its getting held to a different standard than games like battlefield, which can somehow get by with being half a game. by having a sorry excuse for a campaign, but good multiplayer. while killzone. has a very solid campaign, and very good multiplayer.... and the troll polygon review.

I just checked the Amazon customer review and it's not pretty. Lots of disappointed people. I thought by checking their review history I would catch out the Xbox trolls (possibly first review or just 360 software) but unfortunately the majority of these faulty PS4 reviews seem legit!

Over 120 on amazon who bought a ps4 are reporting there system rodded.

Unfortunately I'm one of the ones that got the Blue Pulsing Light of Death. Had to return it to Best Buy. Disappointing, sure, but shit happens. I've bought a lot of Sony products over the years so this was bound to happen eventually. Looking forward to buying another PS4 eventually, but I'll wait until the kinks are sorted out.

i rather see failures now than months down the track. My original PS3 was dead on arrival but that was months after it was out.

Hopefully these things get fixed sooner so I can enjoy an issue free console.

If you click the "see all my reviews" links for the people claiming to have defective PS4s there are some with only that single review to their name, which does look questionable.  However, there are plenty who seem like legit users with multiple other reviews under their belt.  I suppose those could still be trolling but it does lend some credibility to their reviews.

You do realize that these people legit bought the console. You can't place a review unless you bought one. Btw everyone is lier but Sony right?

Does Sony pay you or something?

As long as it's not 0.4% per day.

First off, read killerzx's response to you.

Second, what the hell are you rambling about?  I'm not defending Sony; if anything I'm giving the customers who wrote the reviews the benefit of the doubt.
