Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS4 and Xbox One both have shitz lineup .... why waste your money.

Bought my WiiU last year to play Nintendo land and NSMBU, was planning to pick Rayman Legends, Deus Ex Human Revolution Collector edition and Pikmin 3 soon after launch.... But as we know now all of which were delayed and I wind up just playing game that were on my Wii backlog (Zelda SKyward sword, Last Story and Xenoblade) and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate lots of it.

Now, I'm facing the same dilema as I was last year about getting a true next gen consoles, but why should we even bother. Both Microsoft and Sony have failed to give us any next gen games.

Killzone looks boring as hell, sure it's shinny and shit but doesn't seem like fun... I'd rather play Battlefield 4 or COD: Ghosts. Knack looked good when it was announce now we know that it's simply din't deliver.

Xbox one three exclusives aren't any better, Forza 5 is a niche racer game and Dead Rising 3 and Ryse are sure to disappoint and anyone that preorder any of these games are just simply crazy should wait for some reviews.

The best game to come out this year GTA5 cant even be played on a next gen console what the hell? I was actually looking forward to GTA5 on next Gen since I gave my Xbox 360 to my nephew (his console got red rings) last summer when I pre-ordered my Xbox one Day one console (I cancel my pre-order back in September). Hear hoping that GTA5 get release on PC soon.

So now the WiiU might actually get some quality software to keep me distracted, never the less I'm still left wondering which console is truly going to offer the best next gen experience? When is next gen going to arrive, I can tell you one thing it's not tomorrow or next week.

PS4 or Xbox one? I just don't know....

By the time the really good games I want launch (Infamous, Destiny, The Order, and ESPECIALLY Galak-Z), the PS4 will still be $400. Now people will say, consoles have issues at launch, hardware failures etc. True but the rate is not 100% nor is it anywhere near that, most electronics at launch have around a 5% failure rate and I'm fine by that. So to answer your question, if I were to buy one early next year regardless, why would I wait?

That's because your not having the debate between PS4 or Xbox one. Money not an issue but i'm only going to support one next-gen console.
The only regret by waiting is not getting to enjoy the excitement and experience of a console launch.

Any issues to your console is covered by the 1 year manufacturing waranty. Xbox 360 as all educated us on the process of getting a console replaced.

Those who buy new-gen consoles don't do it because of the tame launch games but because they are fanatics.

Well, calling the current lineups "shitz" is overduing it a bit IMO but I still agree with your sentiment.  Unlike the 360 and PS3 which both had me plenty excited pretty much from the get-go, I'm not the least bit interested in the PS4 or XB1 currently or for the near future.

I do expect hope that this changes in the coming years (Phantom Pain looks nice) but for now WiiU (finally) has my full attention.

Now, when Irrational actually shows off a new badass looking Bioshock for the 4/1, then I'll be there with bells on.

As someone who also bought a Wii U at launch, there's a certain irony in stating the PS4 and XBOne lineups look bad when you have a Wii U in your possession.

I came in expecting "Why not PC?"
Instead I see a rant about how crappy launch games are.

Yep, it's the dawn of a new generation.

I wouldnt say they have bad line ups, actually they both have alot of good games but the problem being 90% are playable on PS3/360 so I can agree that there isnt much reason to buy these console unless ur a huge fan of Killzone or Dead Rising or dont own a PS3/360.

I will get one of them eventually, just depends on how fast they can accumulate a library of games I cant already play on my current consoles. Most likely ill get a PS4 in 2015, by then it could possibly be $299 and have a strong selection of exclusives.

That's not true. 8th gen consoles have some exclusives and superior ports many people would like to play.

Noteworthy games aren't not that far off either.

This. Money isn't really an issue here.

The launch lineups are meh but you can say that for practically every console ever. It'll get better, especially after 2 years or so.
