Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Launch on Friday .... Where are the games???

I think Sony is missing out on a great opportunity from all the goodwill that the PS4 as built up before the launch.

1. Superior hardware.
2. Awesome price of $399.99.
3. Proven better performance over Microsoft.

I really felt that Sony had a head start on Microsoft when it came to building the next gen console. Microsoft with every press conference seemed like their hands where being force by Sony and ill-prepare.

I just expected Sony software to blow Microsoft out of the water. Beside it's not like Microsoft as anything much better. It wouldn't of taken much from Sony to really rule the day in term of software.

Sony would of convert so many Xbox 360 owner, now I feel like once there supply constrain from Sony most will go back to Microsoft. Rather then wait for this generation superior console.

A gaming library needs to be balanced. Both Sony and MS has a balanced library to start with. As far as critically acclaim, we are talking abut launc games here. Most games will be above avg to avg. There might one or two great games. It took the PS3 near 2 years to get those types of games.

PS3 release with a new IP that was pretty well review... Resistance: Fall of Man.... It probably would of done much better too if the console din't cost so much. The system was also backward compatible with PS2 games.

Killzone isn't quite the killer app.

If PS4 been backward compatible i'd be buying one just to play Diablo3 and GTAV.

Lack of games is not PS4 problems, it's people who use reviews as proof of games being available. I bet you anything, that Killzone is a much better game than Resistance. In today's reviews, resistance would get buried.

Maybe but Resistance like it or not was a new experience that wasn't on the PS2, Killzone might of taken a new direction on PS4 but still won't feel like a new experience.

Well that post screams "insecure".

You should know full well that when people say "games" they mean "critically acclaimed exclusives". Depending on who you ask, only AAA retail games count too. There is no set criteria. Im sure you've been around enough to read between the lines. But im pretty sure the majority aren't counting multiplats, and cross-gen multiplats at that.

So, a system has no games unless it has critically acclaim exclusives? And you are a an MS fan..............................................

Well I personally go by "if it is on one and not the other". Again, no set criteria. Id also say that id take the top 3 360 exclusives over the top 10 PS3 exclusives anyday......but hey, that's crazy (does not compute). Am I right????? :P

Knocking me because 360 has less exclusives then PS3? k.....thats nice. Still enjoyed the hell out of my console. Just saying posting lists is just a compensating mechanism, I see that now

The bolded notion coupled with your signature is spookily reminiscent of someone I used to watch on Youtube.

Say, do you have a fondness for wearing caps?

I am that person. lol. A lot has changed since then, believe me.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I guess they are coming next year.

And in relation to XBONE launch, well basically it will just be Forza.
KI, Ryse and Dead Rising will score poorly, you can bet.

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

Bolded 2 almost entirely explains bolded 1.

Let's be realistic, there would've been nothing rational behind integrating the architecture of a system still retailing for $200 in the PS4 to appease an install base half the size of the PS2's, that's without retooling the software to have it's games work adequately with the PS4 UI, it would've been 2006 all over again, if not worse.

it happens with the ps3 and it will happen again with the ps4, no worries at all.

Ha, couldn't help but point it out. Believe it or not, even though I've never really been pro-360 per se, you were actually one of my favorite villains within that circle. xD

This thread was patently unnecessary.
