Launch Exclusives:
Crimson Dragon - 8/10
Fighter Within - 6/10
Forza Motorsports 5 - 9/10
Killer Instinct - 9/10
Lococycle - 8/10
Ryse: Son of Rome - 9/10
Zoo Tycoon - 9/10

Crimson Dragon and Lococycle may end up being lower than an 8. The buzz around Ryse, Zoo Tycoon, KI, and Forza is too high. I don't think Fighter Within can go lower, but I haven't heard anyone say it's anything to write home about. Everything I've heard about Ryse, I think it'll surprise everyone.

Prepare to be disappointed, seriously.

Regardless, of how the games score, I won't be disappointed.  Nothing in either launch line-up is my cuppa.

My opinion of where they will fall is based on the opinions of writers and gamers that have played the games since E3 and Gamescon.

I seriously doubt Ryse is going to be anywhere near a 9/10, the feedback from press and gameplay footage to date both speak of a beautiful but fair dull hack&slash game. I don't mind myself, seeing as it is one of my favourite genre and I play the shit out of Dynasty Warrior but reviewer tend to look down on these type of games due to 'simplicity' and 'repetitiveness'.

The other questionable review would be Killer Instinct. Press has been extremely positive to date, unfortunately because of its pricing model and the lack of actual single player as well as low playable character at launch will cause some reviewer to mark it down. There is no way it can sustain a 9/10 meta when 1 low scory desenting voice can cause it to plummet 0.1 score at least.

Reports for Lococycle also hasn't been great but that game is too much of an unknown for me to comment.

Based on past results (from sequels or similar games), here are my predictions:

Forza 5 - 85-90 (Forza Horizon is 85, Forza 4 is 91)
Dead Rising 3 - 80 (Dead Rising is 85, Dead Rising 2 is 79)
Ryse - 70 (Conan is 69, Dante's Inferno is 73)
Killer Instinct - 75 (Street Fighter X Tekken is 79)

On metacritic, so far:

Forza 5 - 82 (after 31 reviews)
Dead Rising 3 - 78 (after 36 reviews)
Ryse - 61 (after 30 reviews)
Killer Instinct - 73 (after 19 reviews)

Looks like a lackluster lineup to compliment a lackluster lineup.

But if I had to buy one of the next-gen exclusives I'd go Dead Rising 3.

Somehow I missed that one.  Thanks.  Editing post above now.

I haven't read much that pans the actual gameplay of Lococycle, but the humor and plot is really disliked.  Almost universally.

Crimson Dragon - 8/10 5.6/10 - Should have just been released on the Xbox 360, not an Xbox One title.
Forza Motorsports 5 - 9/10 8.2/10 - Generally well received.
Killer Instinct - 9/10 7.3/10 -  Generally well received.
Lococycle - 8/10 4.8/10 - Generally panned for humor/plot.
Ryse: Son of Rome - 9/10 6/10 - Gameplay/mechanics.  Graphically, spectacular.
Zoo Tycoon - 9/10 7/10 - Fun, but panned for being shallow.

Overall, the games I picked weren't necessarily where I felt they would be.  Lococycle especially.  I figured there would be a bit more to the game than we had seen, but in the end it wasn't.  I think Ryse's scoring is probably worse than it actually should be.  Meaning I think the game is better than critics are scoring it.  I can live with the scores though.

I think people who do not look at any game lower than an 8 should really get some perspective as to why they game.

Being a fan of the hack&slash genre, I buy most hack&slash religiously. All those Dynasty Warrior ripoff, One Piece, Saint Seiya, Fist of the North Star... God of War, MGS Revengeance. I love all of them irrespective of their score, because I know I love Hack&Slash games and I have no problem with the issue that reviewer have with them.

Reviewer needs to be critical about games because that's their job, they can't just give it a high score because they like the genre, objectively speaking I fully expected the review score of Ryse.

But you know what? Reviews don't score don't really matter much when the complaint that causes the game to be scored so low is a plus for you personally.

As for Lococycle - it was more panned for repetitive gameplay. Given that I'm not a racing fan, and knowing its score, I can safely avoid it. The exact opposite of a Hack&Slash where I would say, screw review ima getting this day 1.
