I enjoyed Iron Man 1 and a few other of their movies (mainly the first few X-men). However, I'm tired of superhero action films. Iron Man 3 completely sucked compared to the first one. Didn't really enjoy Captain America, Thor, or The Avengers. I believe I'm done with watching anymore films from them. They aren't even worth a 1 dollar Redbox rental to me.

In afraid I'm not well versed in the comics, but I can offer an opinion on the movies and TV show.

Commercially, I think Disney and Marvel have done a terrific job with the Marvel universe. Tying all the separate heroes together under a single Avengers banner has made the projects cohesive and brought in millions. Even though I prefer the DC universe, Warner Bros. and DC are far behind the curve on this front.

So that's commercially. Critically, the recent Marvel movies have been a mixed bag. Of the eight movies, I would only recommend three: Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and The Avengers. I will say that the next Captain America looks quite good. More political drama than special effects spectacular, which is refreshing.

Lastly, Agents of SHIELD. This has been a huge disappointment. Despite Whedon's involvement, the show plays out like an anti-Whedon show: cookie cutter characters, contrived plots, just plain ordinary. The show really needs a complete overhaul.

That's my two cents.

No wonder I think it's entertaining. :P (not exactly a Whedon fan, my friends would say that this is putting it lightly).

Hmm, pie.

For the comics. I do get really fed up with the constant Spider-Man series, epic 12 issue mini series. They seem to not stop now. And the constant branching comics. We have two Fantastic Four teams basically. Avengers everywhere. And the X-Men making less and less sense. Since to follow everything. You have to buy this this and this. I know it's been done since forever. But all the variant cover spamming and making you buy X-Factor to understand something in X-Men is getting old. Oh, and the whole clone characters need to stop. Red Hulk & Red She-Hulk shouldn't exist. They are crap copies. And ruined Ross & Betty. Also the whole this person has a child now stuff. Daken, Skarr, Lyra I'm looking at you.

I personally just stick to Indestructible Hulk, Superior Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, & FF. Any further, you have to buy 20 other issues.

The movies mostly misses for me. I've only liked Rami SM 1 & 2, FF 1 (Not organic Doom), Incredible Hulk, X-Men 1 & 2, IM 1 & 2, Avengers. Nothing else. Amazing Spider-Man I skipped because it was a rehash of the origin. I'm waiting on Amazing 2 to judge. Screw the Ghost Rider movies. Those need to be burned. Capt and Thor. I never cared about them so I have no interest. Ant-Man & Wasp shouldn't have been skipped in Avengers. And I'm still waiting for a Hulk movie that I can say I fully liked. Ang Lee was bad with all the horrible things they did with Hulk. Nortons Hulk was better. But story elements where fudge a lot. And they still made Hulk stupidly huge. I will not watch Agent of SHEILD intll they get green lit for a second season. I'm tired of shows getting axed.

I'm a bit behind on my reading, but I find the X-men comic to be amazing right now. Most of them anyways. Wolverine and the X-men has been consistently gold for the past 30 issues. All New X-men has been fantastic up until... issue 7 (I stopped reading there I think). Uncanny, I'm iffy on it. It needs more time to develop. I was ready to drop Uncanny Avengers, but my friend told me to stick with it so I will. X-men standalone looks good. Glad to see the girls get their comic. Uncanny X-force... the Psylocke one... has been dreadful. They've killed her character in that book. Plus she's less hot with that new outfit of hers :/.

As far as movies go? I really don't know what's happening. The Wolverine was fantastic. Haven't watched Thor yet. They've abandoned Thanos for Avengers so I'm confused. I have yet to watch the T.V. series. The Days of Future Past does indeed look like a mess of a film, I can only hope it's entertaining. Captain America movie looks pretty pro.

Animation is a mess... again. They cancelled anything decent worth watching and replaced it with crap. I can only hope Disney spins off animation since they clearly don't know what they're doing.

Couldn't agree with you more on this. It was around this time that for some reason Marvel decided to give Marvel's true 'everyman'  power and therefore ruin Rick Jones. A shame.

I'm pretty sure Psylockes character was destroyed when she was put on Wolverine's X-force team, suddenly a reluctant but skillful person was a stone cold killer. But that book was a joke, around the time I argued endlessly with people on CBR (like the propper fanboy) how that book was just insulting at times. Example, Angel suddenly had the ability to change between normal and Arch-Angel, Arch-angel persona was more than happy to kill, yet here is the odd thing normal Angel was happy to transform into Arch-angel. This was completely wrong, Angel would never do that.

Now they are owned by Disney I'm surprised we haven't seen more cartoons, honestly. I'm hoping to see some good ones from them. I heard a rumour Runaways was going to be made into a cartoon, a great idea.

Hmm, pie.

I totally forgot about the animated area. The animated movies and shows. Another hit or miss. The good stuff was forcibly cancelled. Spectacular Spider-Man, Wol & The X-Men, Avengers EMH. Ultimate Spider-Man is just too dumb down. Hulk and the Agents of SMASH is trying too hard to be funny. Which is really sad, since Paul Dini is working on it.

The motion comics are okay. but I would prefer some of them actually be animated. Ultimate Wolverine VS Hulk was one I wanted animated. The animated movies just mainly stopped. We just get random ones come out. Most of the time, it's just Iron Man stuff. I would like more done with secondary heroes. Doctor Strange was a good start. Can we get other Avenger team member movies? Like do block teams: Ant-Man (Yellow Jacket) , Wasp (Giant Girl), Wonder Man, Vision etc. How about have a Hulk team up with She-Hulk. Not that new Hulk & Iron Man animated movie coming out.

Pretty much everything is great... except for the comics.

I think the comics need more of a Earth 1, Earth 2 type situation going.

The current strategy where it's either no changes or drastic nonsensical ones just doesn't work.

Also, though the daredevil movie wasn't great.  Michael Clark Duncan was a GREAT Kingpin.  I can't think of anyone who could of done it better.

Who told you that? He hasn't even been fully introduced.

There are many other problems with the comics department, yet the Studios is doing very well. The films in a new and well connected universe, slightly different to what we know in 616 or Ultimate. Thor 2 wasn't as good as the first and SHIELD has been entertaining, just unsure how/when they are going to introduce mutants into the 'Avengers' film world. X-men films might have it covered by they've got an issue when they try and introduce Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

Anyway, your thoughts?

That's never going to happen because Fox owns the rights to mutants. Unless Disney/Marvel can work something out with Fox then mutants won't show up in the Avengers films. I know Marvel originally sold the rights to a lot of their properties because they were in financial trouble, that deal is now harming their vision to have a connected movie universe.

The comics haven't interested me in a long time. I used to love X-Men but I stopped reading it heavily after the Onslaught saga.
