there is a difference between "dips to 20fps" and "running at 20 fps"

OP needs some schooling

The lowest framerate they got was 16fps... seems like thew 20fps is the stable framerate.

I have to disagree with you.

"a chugging 20fps during the zombie action while out in the big city."- Digital Foundry

Now ask any developer to insert that many zombies (or any polygon object with that dimension) that DR3 has in their games, to see how smooth would they run.

I'm pretty sure it is 30fps during less crowded moments and dips to lower numbers in the contrary. You make it seem like 20fps is the real locked framerate but I don't believe it is by the videos I've seen on IGN and Gamespot.

I can't wait for the outrage of the people who claimed in the other threads they wouldn't even accept slight dips from 60fps

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

They didn't mention what build they were playing, did they?

How come they are the only one to say it drops after the big blow out were everyone else said its 30

Because only they (and LoT) are doing a in depth analysis of games from a technical standpoint. Other sites will tell you usually only if the framerate is locked or not and 30 or 60fps, and sometimes whether the framerate is dipping when it's a major issue. DF goes way depper than that.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Capcom choose the wrong platform to make this game exclusive.

They should have made it for the PC?

Maybe it just me but I read all the article...

"The statement from the team is that a locked 30fps is targeted here, but in the build we saw there's a huge gap to be bridged in this regard; drops to 20fps are consistent and sustained when outdoors, with 16fps being our record low during some of the biggest explosions."

It goes below 20fps.

DF itself said the 20fps is the avg. performance of the game.

I'm sure these issues will be smoothed over by launch, its no fps game a stable 30fps should be playable and I'm sure they can achieve it by the time the game releases.
