I'd take global this year maybe. But CoD doesn't have legs beyond a year so it wouldn't be fair. I said UK because we are discussing UK sales.

So its safe to say WiiUs highest selling game will easily beat the PS4s then. That was all i was trying to get across since the beginning. PS4s highest vs. Wiius highest.

Okay, great point. Except this CoD won't be PS4s highest selling game.

It will be for awhile. So for awhile WiiUs highest selling game will be above PS4s highest selling game. So will hardware by the way.

A one year head start will do that, also 3dworld won't even be the best seller, Nintendo land will still be the best seller untill mario kart take the crown it's a 3D mario not a 2d one

Not if PS4 is as hyped as people claim lol. With its 1 million preorders and all lol. Should manage 1million easy first week according to some. Nintyland isnt bundled anymore so its a done deal on that remaining number 1 on Wiiu. Besides i was talking about this years games.

Overall numbers don't paint a good picture for the industry quite honestly.

Sales of Call of Duty are down YOY by 50% including PS4 sales, Battlefield 4 and Assassin's Creed 4 sales are down over YOY by 60% in their respective debut weeks as well.... Hmmm

Meanwhile: GTA was the biggest entertainment hit since Michael Jackson.

Yes, GTA accomplished a great feat; however, it sucked alot of money out of the industry which in turn affected the performance of Call of Duty, Battlefield and Assassin's Creed - they are suffering, which in turn will affect the publishers revenue. Furthermore, all of the mentioned 3 titles had some of the biggest drops I have ever seen for AAA games in a while.

Cannot have everything perfect, especially in transition phase. If GTA V was MP with next gen consoles I bet the sales would not have been so great either. All of those games (according to what Vgchartz guesses) are doing decently on next gen. I do not expect retail spend YoY to be to bad for November.

AFTER the ps4 releases, it doesn't take a genius to notice that the number of potencial buyers increase.

You still don't get it. You said launch week numbers would be about the same if CoD hadn't launched early YET you say now that CoD will sell relevant numbers the week PS4 launches.

not exactly the week it launches, but after it launches, more potential buyers (who didn't preorder the launch) will come. untill then, the sales from this week came from 99% of the interested to get it at launch.

An extremely ballsy prediction that will almost certainly be proven wrong in time.  But you gotta appreciate the gumption to toss out something silly like this without making me read a novel long post like John Lucas.

"Oh my god why do poeple keep buying CoD it's the same shit every year other franchises have no chance people are so dumb"

"Oh yeah CoD sold more on our platform than on yours suck iiittt"

No one here is discussing the quality of COD franchise. They are talking about its sales, and given that COD is 2nd most popular franchise out there, its very significant

Are people seriously defending the Wii U here, regarding these Call of Duty sales?

Theyre abysmal. The Wii U version just got outsold by a version of the game that cant even be played for 3 weeks. The Wii U has an install base in the UK of 180,000 compared to the PS4s 0.

You cant defend this.

You are underestimating the power of zero999.

Lol try Avatar. Anyways i noticed you talk about GTA alot. You realize Pokemon will make more money this year right? Someone posted a link about how much all of Pokemons different avenues of revenue Pokemon brings in. On an "off year" Pokemon makes more than GTAV will make its lifetime. Please stop talking like GTA is bigger than what it is because it isnt. Its not even the highest selling game lol.
