I thought that was common knowledge. You will only need to compare MK 3DS to MK GC or Smash 3DS to Smash GC. The GC game easily looks better. And no, by better I don't mean better art...

They both use radically different textures lol, hardly a credible comparison.

yes I agree, different textures and especially different screen size which makes it more difficult. If you can zoom you 3DS screens you can obviously see that it is quite inferior than Gamecube, but then looking stuning on that small screen. It's just that we can't compare between these two.

Here's to hoping for that 3DS player for the Wii U in 2015. Lol.

But personally I'd say MK7 looks generally looks sharper per se, at least at that resolution, while Double Dash looks glossier and more polished.

But this is even the case when comparing SMK on the SNES vs MK on the GBA, the latter being intentionally designed as a SMK/MK64 hybrid.

He's making the retarded dumb argument that the dreamcast game Shenmue looks better than the 3DS graphics, using an enhanced port of an N64 game as "proof."

edit: lemme change that word to "dumb"

It has the ability to crush the Gamecube in almost every aspect other than pure polygons per second thanks in part to the use of 3D and texturing to a degree.

This is also considering the Dreamcast often struggled to run the Shenmue games. Either you haven't played them, or you was banking on everyone in this thread never playing them before.

While I'm here, I hereby declare that the PS2 is more powerful than the original Xbox on the basis of comparing Shadow of the Colossus to Blinx.

I look at Monster Hunter Tri (Wii) vs. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (3DS)

The 3DS Monster Hunter was the first in the series to have dynamic shadows, plus the WiiU version was a last minute port of the 3DS version to push an online experience for WiiU and a 3DS to WiiU multiplayer testing ground.

Couple that with the experience of Resident Evil: Revelations and you have yet another 3DS title that was then ported over to the WiiU.

In my opinion the 3DS has capabilities on its own TWO SCREENS (very important) that come closer to the first Wii than the Gamecube.

As much as I maintain that all fanboys are as bad as each other, you'll come to notice Dreamcast enthusiasts have a pretty bad habit of trying to tell you 2+2 = 5 in every sense of the metaphor.

Its definitely weaker from a poly pushing+texture perspective. It has a more advanced GPU though so it can pull of tricks like bump mapping better then the gamecube.

Raw powerwise i think the 3ds is between the dreamcast and the ps2, but of course the shaders it utilises allows game like RE:Revaltion which looks like it should belong on the Vita.

well then the Atari 5200 was more powerful than the ps2 when you compare the Atari 2600 compilation game "activision anthology" to the Atari 5200 games, which in turn also makes the 5200 more powerful than the original Xbox since that was already thriumped by the Ps2 :D

Honestly tho.... basing a comparison on a remake of an N64 game which came out almost 20 years ago...
