I think the word "If" lost it's conditional for in this thread.
It's IF not WILL.
To role play, it will be great for whoever gets it on X1 and I will be in awe because I love ancient mythology.

None of those reasons are why Ryse gets critism.

Theres been several previews stating that the gameplay is tedious and boring. Every piece of footage released on the game shows different environments with the exact same combat..same weapon...same kills...same combos etc.

The cause for concern is real...none of those issues you mentioned is whats causing the concern.

Now none of this means the game will be bad though..it very well might be a case where we havent seen 90% of the game and the variety and depth it has to offer in gameplay.

The game does look impressive

Especially the video IGN posted. Showing off some of the other environments like the forest/night gameplay and the part on the bridge. I love me some cinematic goodness!

I think you didn't follow GAF and VGC threads right from the beginning. Even in this thread people are just judging the game because of Crytek. Don't try to make a good argumentation and say that everyone else does, too, because that's wrong.

Why would a score that high would be impossible to see? GTA IV did 98! (although it didn't deserve it in my opinion). Maybe this next gen we will se another game like that could scratch a 99 on Metacritic!
