Yeah, I have the game pre-ordered.

So the Vita is getting an Action JRPG and 3ds is getting 3d Jiggly Physics JRPG from Xseed, pretty cool stuff... If I still had my vita, I would have bought this for sure but I guess I will stick my Jiggle Physics for now

Is this game like SS, or MH; not much story, kill monster, etc. Or is it like FF and Tales? With side characters, a story, and a deep combat system. If it's like the latter, I'll pick it up.

Hmmm.  I wouldn't say it's super heavy on story, but Ys Seven was pretty big on characters and has a good combat system.

Does this game have any connection to any previous Y's games? Will I be missing anything if I do not play any of the previous installments? or is this a stand alone game?

The Ys games overall are fairly standalone. Like you don't really need to know the overall story in order to understand what's going on in each game. I highly recommend you play them all though because they're awesome.

In short, its like Final Fantasy (stand alone) and not like Suikoden (connected). Okay that helps, I never got into the series because time and money hasn't really been on my side as time goes by but this helps in my purchasing decisions. :)
