Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Forza 5 Launch Trailer. Oh My God.

Very nice graphical debut on the One. Hard to imagine later Forzas and GT's will look better, because this looks pretty amazing.

Need for Speed still looks better, cleaner imagery, and less baking.

Are you done? Have you not experienced the magic of being in the cockpit with the occulus rift?
2D Peasants :p

I have to say who cares if Need for Speed looks better.  Its also not running at 60FPS so the target for that game is different.  Its people like you who have no clue how game development is done and you only focus on one aspect of a game forgetting that developers had to compromise to do certain things.  As for the Occulus Rift, why don't you create your own thread with that info instead of derailing others.

OT: The graphics sure are nice. I just wish this and GT were a little more lively in the gameplay aspect.

These games probably aren't your cup of tea. Personally, I think that Forza and GT has the most lively and entertaining gameplay of any racers ever made. We've seen sims go arcade and arcade racers go sim before, it never works well and only serves to alienate their fanbases.

I don't play Pokemon RPG's because I think they're stupid and have poor gameplay, while Pokemon RPG fans probably think that Baldur's Gate II has poor gameplay and is stupid. Such is life as a gamer!

Have to question the integrity of the OP.

Either he purposely exaggerates his response or he doesn't realize how easy it is to reproduce better visuals than this, especially during non-gameplay segments.

I would have liked more cars and tracks but only having 14 isn't a major deal breaker.  GT5: Prolouge had only 6 tracks and not many people had a major problem with it either or it wouldn't have sold over 4 million copies.  Also if you think the cars in Forza are too shiny crash them while racing problem solved.

They also didn't charge $60 for GT:P. The only reason people bought that is because they were tired of waiting for GT5. 14 tracks is not really enough if they expect people to play it for years. It's especially bad when there is a pretty good chance you will have to pay for any extra tracks that are added. Really? Crash them up?...Good god...

Well I just thought of another solution to the shiny problem paint all your cars with matte paint which is available in FM3,4 and Horizon (not sure about FM2 haven't played it in a long time) it will make them look very ugly but it will solve most of the shiny problems.  But better yet just play the game in interior, first or hood view mode if its really that big of a problem to some people.  Also its really more then 14 tracks most of the tracks have more then one layout and the Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans) has an extra track since the Buggati Circuit is included.  For me the only major losses are Fujimi Kaido and Mugello Autodrome and maybe Suzuka Circuit all the other tracks that where dropped I wasn't a huge fan off.

I don't know why you keep trying to throw out solutions to the lighting issue. I was mearly pointint out to you that lighting issue PullusPardus was talking about wasn't an issue with the day/night cycles but with the art style itself. I'm actually not sure how you didn't see that considering he talked about FM4 aswell...

So in total were really looking at about 30 ish total layouts. The game still has just over half of the tracks included in FM4.

Well to me the lighting in the game isn't a issues but to people that are bothered by it there are numerous solution the easiest of which is to play the game in interior, hood or first person view and if you are a pro in racing games one of those views should actually be one of your prefered views anyway.

If that's what you want, I highly recommend Forza Horizon.

Have to agree, even though I love the main Forza games Horizon is a lot of fun.   Plus since I got hooked on the metals I will end up spending over 100 hours on it also like I did with Forza 3 and Forza 4.
