Technically this will be a fun game... I guess The Last of Us and Beyond Two Souls are not worthy of super high praises anymore.

We dont need to. Xbox fans have Halo, Titanfall, Gears Of War. I like the genres I played yesterday in London. KI was an amazing figting game. Best Ive played in years. Forza 5 looked and felt so good. People will be shocked just how visually impressive this game is. I played it for 45 mins. Its WAY better visually than this gen. Ryse looked incredible. Especially the character models and the facial anaimations during gameplay. I mean seriously? You have to see it first hand.
The Xbox One's launch lineup I believe with the diversity I played yesterday at the Xbox One Tour will win out come January February. The games are fun, Visually stunning and diverse. I played Forza 5, Ryse, KI, DR3 and Kinect Sports Rivals demo. By the way Kinect Sports Jet ski racing was just like playing a new Wave Race game. And the new Kinect is so responsive. SO good.
This gen will be won and lost not on power but innovation. After a while I kinda forgot about visuals and just wondered at the possibilities of Kinect 2.0 and Smartglass. Obviously the visuals were stunning and still had me when I was leaving.
But there is so much more to Xbox One, and that there is something Microsoft cant convey until you play it.
Havn't a ton of critics said the same thing about Shadow Fall? I hope Ryse is awesome....It might make me get an X1 down the road abit.

And Uncharted and GOW. All those titles are linear to hell. But praised so highly. Microsoft wont get praised for it.
Do yourself a favour and play it first. I played it yesterday in London, and its just like GOW or Ninja Gaiden. Like a cross between GOW and Batman Arkham games. But with a billion times better grapics and animations.
Its a great game if you like those genres.

Gee I wonder why that could be.
In one of the previews that I read: You can't seem to even break out of combat stance once its initiated. I mean.. come on.

I said all along, Ryse would win Graphics awards. It will just watch. Kinda funny considering Resolutiongate. |
I agree the game is in my opinion the most interesting looking launch title.
And as far as the resolution of the game - why do people forget that resolution is nice, but absolutely not the be all end all - OR a 720p game could look more realistic and better than a 480i DVD upscaled to 720p.
We all know a DVD movie looks more realistic than even the best 1080p game. What makes a game look realistic is many more things than just resolution: lighting, bounce, luminosity, transparency, reflections, etc. (CGI-Quality feel free to add some more.) All those things are super important to making something look more realistic - plus there is styling etc.
Ryse Son of Rome is interesting as it is a polarizing game. People seem to like it or hate it. I'm on the like it side - Can’t wait to play that game!

Now that you shared his whole quote, it ACTUALLY means nothing. Impressive looking is not the same as actually being impressive from a technical standpoint. And i doubt he has done some sort of analysis.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
