Consumers dont reall care about 1080p but they do care about spending $500

Totally agree. But as of right now, MS doesn't seem to have trouble off loading its launch hardware.

Kinect = Sales

Most launch console get sold out at launch, even at $600. Both coming console will have amazing sale this year. But I wouldn't count out Nintendo yet.

Well... PS3 was very easy to find at launch. I think people today are more accepting of high price points than 2006. Its probably because modern consoles are perceived as more than a gaming machine.

Wii U seems destined for 3rd in the 8th gen. It already had a price cut and its still getting crushed by the PS3 and 360. A 3DS seems sufficient for those who need their 1st party fix.

$500 today is definitely more acceptable today than $600 in 2006. I think most non-fan customers buy a system depending on their situation. I bought the PS3 in 2009 cause I was single and living alone and would not pay for online gaming. But the most fun, laughing fun, lmao fun I had last gen was playing Mario Kart Wii at my friends place and Mario Smash.

Now that I am married, the new Mario Kart coming out is having me thinking about getting the Wii U. Mario Kart, Zelda and any other well done Mario games should push hardware for Nintendo. And we know how they milk their Mario games

The only thing ill care about is what multiplat RPGs are 1080p on what platform. If there is a really good RPG that comes on all platforms but is only going to be 1080p on the WiiU, then I would probably buy it on the WiiU. Not that it would ever be like that, but that is how it works for me.

If a exclusive RPG happens to be 720p on my PS4 I will not care nearly as much, though I may wonder why its not 1080p.

Heres my proof Blu Ray hasent caught on as the #1 video format.

There is too much truth in this statement for a joke thread.

I think my Wii U is broken. All of mine are in 720p.

You have a case?

Yeah it is broken, have it fixed, send it to Nintendo.

Fix your TV too, get a 55 inch with a 1920 by 1080 Telly while you're at it

Only console war nerds and game designers who are really technology nerds care about resolutions and such.

Most true gamers are casuals that like Call of Duty, GTA and Madden not because of the graphics but because of the fun and all their friends are playing it.
