"Years ago, when I was a kid, it was all about how many polygons you could push around, and everyone was pixel-counting," he continued. "I think that's still important, but it's much less of the story than it used to be."

I think this has become worse over the years.

*shrugs*

What was the "graphics/processor" Sega fanboys used to tease Nintendo fans about?

Does it have...? I can't quite remember, but it's 1990's all over again.

"Blast Processing", a term that literally means nothing

The Mega Drive prided itself with beeinng the more powerful hardware (it has the faster processor of the  two be clear), but SNES games looked and sounded better (Mode 7, more colours, Sony´s fantastic soundchip).

"The Cloud, The Cell, 1080p upscaled" are the modern versions.

I guess we can say that gamers easily forget history.

Cause its repeating itself.

I by no means intend to derail the thread but, really?? If the so-called weaker than last gen wii u can run Wii Sports Club at 1080@60 surely the significantly more powerful xbone will eat this particular game for lunch.

I'm pretty sure WiiU can run pong at 4K. Does it make it the most powerful system ever?

Isn´t it pretty uncommen to meddle with the framerate so late in development ?

I always imagined that developers choose a target (in this case 720p and 30fps apparently) and make the game around the specifications.

But hey, what do I know ? I would have prefered 720p at 60fps to be honest.

I think most developers goal is to try and max out everything, until they can't.

The actual game doesn't come out til next year sometime.  So, their ability to run 1080p and 30fps now for the free Beta at launch is pretty good.  Who knows, maybe they can get the fps up to a haigher number by launch.

It is near the end of the end....

Awesome loved the first two. Will get this next year.

In my experiences we normally set a standard and then once we reached that standard we pushed on from there. Obviously everyone is a little different.

Unfortunately what mattered most was SNES lack of blood and lame fatalities in Mortal Kombat lol
