So, I had this thought today. I sometimes go with the flow on the wii u hate. Mostly just some snarky comments/threads here and there since I find it amusing at how bad the console is doing sales wise. It doesn't help that it has so many shortcomings either like hardware, 3rd party, etc. You get the point lol. So, I decided to try to recall how much info on the wii u I looked up before its launch and after. A big factor was prob since I hated the wii. The only info I consumed on it was from various forums like this or neogaf when there is an amusing title. I didn't even care when it launched, hell I didn't even know about it. I figured out that I honestly couldn't give two shits/apathy about the wii u either way as a gaming console, but I'm more interested in its overall situation with sales, price, etc. I guess it would kind of be like the vita if I actually cared for handhelds at all. Wait, not sure if this statement is of any releveance to the title xD So, what do you think overall? The apathy might change farther down the line, but right now apathy is all there is for the wii u as a gaming console to play. So is anyone else like this or is there genuine hate for this failing system? So going with the hate since it's an easy target/interest in the situation rather then the console itself?

I think its because its an easy target. But its an easy target because people really dont like it

The Wii U is doing good now.

And the sells get better each month compare to the month before.

Strange you should mention this when the sells are blowing the PS Vita away, LOL.

Anyways, everyone prefers GamePad features over PC Graphics, so the Wii U already has an extremely bright future like the 3DS.

Nobody really hates it. In fact the machine can do a lot of things, but they think it really is coming up short in terms when it comes to hardware because they dont really look to see what the machine IS actually capable of.

Some people have issues with their hands so they may not like the WiiU controller but they like the system so they want it sold with out the gamepada for some odd reason

Apathy.

I was actually a bit excited at first. I thought, "okay, Nintendo is serious this time, they want me back." ZombiU seemed like a nice start at expanding Nintendo's audience. In the end, though, they were still mostly leaving that up to third-parties, and it's become clear that they didn't even talk to many of them.

Right now, it feels like nothing has changed. The Wii U is going to be for gamers who were already Nintendo fans. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but it's not what Nintendo was saying before launch.

It's different and hasn't proven that the way in which it's different is a distinct advantage. Until Nintendo can prove that it's worth paying extra for the gamepad over horsepower it'll continue to be made fun of.

I think its spite because everyone expected PS3 to win hands down with its magic of the cell processor.

Then when a console barely better than the gamecube with waggle controls won they where mentally and emotionally broken.

Even before launch you could see the media and other gamers bashing the console without even knowing what it could do..

It hasn't sold enough for enough people to legitimately try it before disliking it.

So you have people who would have never bought it making fun of it.

Hardcore NES/SNES lovers who now game on other consoles making fun of it. So apathetic. Why care in the first place.

Similiar with hardcore "Wii" lovers who are just so turned off by gamepad that their libido is getting effected.

Then there is everyone else trying to take a pot shot at the console when its down and say haaa haaa!

N64/Gamecube people might give it a chance but who knows.

Edit: Oh yea. Then there is main stream gaming media. I have to subscribe to Nintendo only websites now since the so called hardcore websites won't even cover the console and its games without getting joyous butterflies in their stomach at its current failure.
