I doubt we'll see it near launch. It's certainly a possibility down the road though.

Imagine, a mod community on a launch game that are so dedicated they make it to look better than the later titles that would be releasing a few years later?!?

I hear ya. You should see the difference my mods made versus the vanilla version of Skyrim.

I have posted pics on CGI's PC screenshots thread.

I've seen them before, or pictures similar on other sites. Skyrim looks good to this day Vanilla, modded though is just something else entirely.

Indeed, and it is incredible.

My PC isn't even THAT powerful, yet it lookds incredible, running HD texture mods, LOD mods, etc... easily ~30 mods and still hits ~38-40fps.'

I could only imagine how it would run with a PS4 level GPU.

According to major its up to the dev

If that were to happen I could see it happening across the board (Thank you competition!).

Of course I would go with whichever console supported it most. Modding is most definitely pro-consumer.

I say: little.

How will they sell you DLC if you can just mod your game to squeeze more out of it?

Skyrim sold plenty of DLC.

Just make sure you release a creators kit that allows users to modify the official DLC you release.

It'd work like that, actually.

I'd hope so.

Someone tweet Yoshida quick!

PS3 allowed almost all Unreal Tournament 3 mods. I have everything from character mods to gameplay mods. It mainly runs at the developer level. There is little preventing PS4 and/or XBone from allowing it other than either company and/or developers being total hardasses. XBone devkit could make a difference, but probably not in regards to retail games.
