I've been looking at gameplay videos lately. Is it just me, but doesn't Wii sports Club feel more like a true sequel to Wii Sports? It doesn't feel like a simple HD revision at all imo.

It really seems that it is Wii sports U. The real upgrade is not really motion plus, but its online and miiverse integration.

Wait so they are now charging for the game almost everyone already got for free? I assume most Wii U owners already have a Wii and probably Wii Sports so why is this necessary? I thought they would add new unique sports in addition to the old ones.

They are adding online multiplayer, which is something I and probably millons of others have always wanted. But I understand what you are saying: they could have had it from the beginning or, at least, when Resort came out. The price point and its "per game" system seem fair to me though.

This isnt Wii Sports 3 guys. Its just a remake to give WiiU owners something to play. Its a digital only release because the point is online interaction. Wii Sports Club will probably remain just a Wii Sports remake. Wii Sports 3 will certainly have Wuhu Island and then we will see new sports and probably returning ones from Wii Sports Resort. With that said cant wait for Wii tennis and Wii bowling online.

Where has Nintendo said this? This looks very much as Wii sports U to me.

Read this part from Iwata asks:

"Shimamura

To be honest, it started from the point when we thought that since it will take some time to make all five sports and release them at once, what if we were to release them in the order they're ready. If we were to release them in a package, it would be quite some way down the road before all of them were ready.

Iwata

And besides, your president wanted to play as soon as possible. (laughs)

Shimamura

Yeah! (laughs) I do think, however, that there are a lot of benefits to this approach. And this is an online game. If we were to release all five games at once, the customers would divide up into the different games. But if we put them out like an irregular periodical, people can thoroughly enjoy each individual sport."

Wii sports U is not gonna be a single game. The new Wii sports is supposed to work around miiverse. The new thing is getting people online, and invested in miiverse. Hence the reason why it's download at this moment. Though It might be preïnstalled later on - in the idea of pushing people online for the full experience.

When things are all said and done, Wii sports U might consist of 20 to 30 sports - with added DLC. Nintendo can release it quite simply through their online structure. At 7 November, the tile will even automaticly appear on your Wii U. All you have to do to try the free 24 hour trail, is tap the icon. That's quite smart.

I'll probably get Tennis, and maybe Golf when it releases.

Three days to go...

The sad thing is that i have a shoulder injury which needs another two week rest :(. That's the tennis-arm then.

I'll try to do the 24 trial to see if it's good but playing for real will have to wait a while.

That's the reason I play all motion only games with my left arm. It also helps me develop the other side of the brain. :P

@farlaff You're welcome, but I don't really see a problem about the basic set being discontinued... You can still play wii u games access miiverse and all features that has on the wii u sistem. I'll buy it :)

Will buy all the sports except boxing, hopefully some Resort games get made later on down the line

Wii Sports best kept secret:

Boxing was the deepest game on the disc. If Wii Sports U is any indication, they may allow you to play with two wiimotes!
