Forums - Gaming Discussion - Current gen Vs Next Gen Battle filed comparison.

it's a port from current gen/the pc engine....

the game clearly is not built ground up on nexgen....

in fact AC IV looks like a high res version running 60fps vs the ps3 version... barely much of an upgrade.. it's like going from ps3 to wii U almost

Next gen is noticeable to me, quite noticeable. Instantly too, lighting, textures.... umm.... birds.

the 360 version had birds too....

it's barely an upgrade.... like I'm quite shocked the current gen games look almost as good as BF4 on nexgen..

Did you watch it in HD? I watched it earlier today on YouTube.

Terrible comparison for various reasons:

1. An online stream is always useless for graphics comparisons. All versions look like s***

2. It's using games built for the lowest common denominator (i.e multiplats) to compare thus favoring current gen

3. It's comparing the worst of next-gen to the best of current gen

4. It does not account for # of players, size of maps, etc and other things that enrich the next gen experience

If you want to see what a real next gen game looks like, download the latest Killzone Shadow Fall videos on gamersyde or better yet, wait for the uncompressed footage Guerilla would be releasing soon.

I disagree with this being the best of the current gen, but yeah, muti plats on the next gen is probably their worst in realistic games department, ghost is most likeley weaker than this.

When it comes to games like knack, you can go all the way back to the game cube, those games don't get much better.

That's that whiny way to look at this video. However, I choose to take it for what its worth.

I thought the biggest improvments on the 8th gen ports were performence, less pop up, 64 players, etc. But looking at them side by side, the 8th gen ports actually look even better than I anticipated.

Lastly, this is not the worst of next gen. Surely BF4 looks better than Knack.

PS4 = Current gen :p

While their is noticeable graphical improvement between the current and the next generation console games it still represent overall the smallest leap between previous console generation I have seen. The last generational console jump between the PS2 to PS3 didn't just offer better graphics. It also offered a very noticeable jump from SD to HD resolution and a giant leap forward in term of online gaming and other online services.

Their little so far to convince me that outside the dedicated gaming community that many will bother to take the plunge with new systems for a while yet. As long as the big AAA titles are still being released on PS3/XBOX 360 consoles and they still sell millions, I can only see PS4/X1 struggling after their initially strong selling launch period.

Textures look so much better on the Xbox One.

This is the 2nd time I've seen someone try to use a horribly compressed GIF in a graphical comparison.
