I don't know if this video was posted here or not. Imo the improvment is obvious but it is still not that big of a leap. the word "crisp" comes to mind looking at the next gen versions.

 

I am aware this is pushing the current gen to their limits and it's just scratching the surface on the next gen consoles but as of now, is graphics alone worth an upgrade?

I think the best way to compare the generation jump is to compare the launch titles of the PS3/360 to the launch titles of the PS4/Xbone.

When you compare those you can see the jump is actual pretty big.

I know what you mean, but it shows that it takes time for a major improvment to happen. people in that next gen rush are for the moment getting 360's or ps3's with shiny chrome rims.

Current gen still looks amazing. 60FPS always wins though. Especially in shooters.

Previous gen holds up pretty well, although the gap really started to show in that scene with the birds (or no birds in the current gen version).

Main differences will be in resolution and framerate, which you won't see over an internet video.

Terrible comparison for various reasons:

1. An online stream is always useless for graphics comparisons. All versions look like s***

2. It's using games built for the lowest common denominator (i.e multiplats) to compare thus favoring current gen

3. It's comparing the worst of next-gen to the best of current gen

4. It does not account for # of players, size of maps, etc and other things that enrich the next gen experience

next gen looks better by a pretty decent margin. Though  Still early gen and cross gen titles so they will get better.

Like the IGN comments though, why is the PS4 version blurry?
