As someone who is a Club Nintendo noob, what are the rewards for getting gold or platinum status? 

I'm just 15 gold away from getting platinum status in my old Club Nintendo account and I have no idea what or when I can redeemed the rewards.  

Let me explain you guys! Once you get enough coins you get Gold status. If you collect even more you get to Platinum status. Once you get to either one you are eligible to pick your reward on july I think. If you get the Platinum status now you can redeem your rewards on July 2014, they will send you a mail later.

TIP: Once you get to Platinum status it's better not to redeem any more coins until after July 2014. Once then you can redeem all of them and get Platinum status for the next year!

EDTI: If it wasn't obvious the rewards from Gold and Platinum are different .

Best Platformer: Super Mario 3D World

Best Action-Adventure: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Best Puzzle: LoZ Wind Waker HD (sort of at least)

Best eShop: Korg MO1D

Biggest Surprise: Super Mario 3D World (the fact that it was sooooooo good after seeing that E3 trailer)

Best Game No-One Bought (VGC: Below 250k): Wonderful 101

Best Story: Fire Emblem Awakening

Best Soundtrack: Fire Emblem Awakening

Wii U Game Of The Year: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate 

3DS Game Of The Year: Animal Crossing New Leaf

Sad that I have to wait until July

What are the kind of rewards for getting Platinum status? I once heard there is a digital and a physical option, but I honestly don't know if this is true.

No problem!

Yeah it sucks to wait so much but they are totally free those rewards! You don't even have to spend coins on those.

About the rewards, you have physical ones and digital ones! You can only choose one! But you live in Costa rica right? I think they don't ship there . Digital rewards are awesome though, this year they gave Super Smash Bros, Super Mario Land and Link's Awakening!

Yeah that's mainly why I asked, I already knew they wouldn't ship to my country haha

Before I give today's news, a shoutout to the Strategy Wiki. Basically, people collaborate to make strategy guides to video games, particularly retro titles. So far, they've completed nearly 600 guides, and have hundreds of others that qualify as useful sources of information. They're always looking for people to help develop guides, so if you love a particular game enough to write about it, consider writing about it there.

3DS News: January 14, 2014

• Is the 3DS Nintendo's iPod?
• New Club Nintendo rewards are available! This month, get Game & Watch: Cement Factory for 100 coins and Spin Six for 150 coins.
• Spanish sales figures exist. Note that the DS was a monster in its day, and the 3DS is not doing terribly.
• A new Kickstarter game has a 3DS stretch goal.
• Moon Chronicles is probably a thing. For the 3DS most likely.
• More Pokemon Music is headed to iTunes.

These were the Gold & Platinum rewards for 2013. I picked up that Majora's Mask soundtrack. The games are usually pretty neat too and you get the code right away (I think). I picked the CD as the reward in june but they ship them in December. So, quite a bit of wait to get the physical rewards. 

You can only pick one of the rewards? Man those non-digital rewards are pretty freaking amazing. Nintendo why don't you send stuff to my country T.T

Also, I guess that after a while you can't get this rewards anymore correct? I mean I'm just 15 coins away from platinum status so after that I will have to wait until July 2014 to pick the new rewards I assume.
