You guys need to understand that there is a lot more to marketting then you think. The problem with the Wii U is that it was hard to market. 

I honestly never saw a single commercial for the Wii U until Mario 3D world released. They put out a lot of Smash commercials, but for every 3 3DS commercials, there was 1 Wii U commercial from my experience. They have there priorities and marketing the Wii U has not been one. All they have done is make cheap commercials that only connect to parents of kids channels. They have not ventured out and done much else. I have seen a few ads on gaming site for there games, but that's very rare.

It's also hard to advertise with lack of compelling diverse line up. "look everyone, you can draw lines on the gamepad in a kirby game!!!! YAH!"

The biggest difference between the Wii's marketting and the Wii U's marketting is that you can't know what the Wii U is just by looking at it. 

 

With the Wii you saw people playing with it and it clicked immediately. You need hands on to understand the Wii U. And the Marketing department at Nintendo was having the problem of how to show it off.

Exactly.  And it's hard to cover the awkwardness and bulkyness and lack of use for the Gamepad, which imo, is ultimatly pointless despite some fair uses.


They also need to stop using Wii remotes in UK ads (and any actually) and instead a bunch of pro controllers, because that just adds to the confusion that will be present until years after U is finnaly dead.

Okay these Zelda threads are getting ridiculous now when they can be kept to just one of the other threads. I think I'm going to leave the forums a while until Splatoon is near.

Here's my dream for the WiiNX or whatever they end up calling it:

Make it Backwards compatible so people who bought the WiiU won't feel cheated. The system is amazing, I'm astounded it's not more successful, especially with all the fantastic exclusives.

Make it fully cross compatible with the WiiU Pro controllers (this is a big one for me, they're nearly perfect controllers)

Make it fully online compatible. As much as I love couch play, and Nintendo does it so well, but they have to embrace the online future.

Give the system a large hard drive. This is imperative. When your competitors have a 500 gig hard drive, and you come packed only with a 32 gig...well, there's no reason for that.

Also, I want my Virtual Console games from Wii and WiiU to transfer forward. I've spent hundreds of dollars just on old games again and again, at least with PS4, many of my games transfer forth.

I'd be okay with a new system as long as they didn't throw all the stuff from the WiiU out that I've invested in.

How so?  a console isn't just a toy, it's an investment.  People buy consoles with the understanding that the company that they support will in turn ensure that the console will get more games.  I bought a WiiU so I could get nintendo games, and if they get another console, I'll feel like I was cheated.  Yeah, the system is great, but the 400 I used to get it and the 1000 or so I spent on games and accessories won't be worth the investment if they don't last 5-7 years.

What do you think they are(this is to get everyones mind off of zelda u).
