I just relized something
that nintendo spokesperson saying Nintendo will only focus on 2015 is probably not true.
1st: Miyamoto him friken self said there are more unannounced wii u games coming this year and next.
2nd: I doubt the spokesman is that high up to know whats happening at 3d.
3rd: Zeldas always get delayed so I ate crow

Speaking progress... Just got the Power Bomb in Metroid Prime, which is an item I thought they would cut from the game since it seems weird in a 3D environment. I guess I was wrong!

I still don't understand one thing. Why is Samus doing this? Is it only cause she got stuck in the planet (Tallon IV, iirc)?

Not going to give you major spoilers but try scanning the chozo lores and read them, they should give you a good idea about what samus is doing

@Mike. Yeah, they saw the figure of a woman that would save them from their demise. So, destiny?

When reading the what Samus can scan, you'll know that she's there to stop the Space Pirates research on the Phazon.

The native Chozo talk about how the Phazon destroyed their civilization, meaning its bad news, and seeing how the Space Pirates are messign with it (Samus knows how bad they can be) she has to stop them.

mmm something like that, but not exactly. Again I don´t want to give you a massive spoiler but the chozo are important in samus history and the other reason she is in that planet is to defeat the dragon-looking monster you met at the beggining of the game (which btw is also important to samus history)
