I'm pretty sure it only counts those who have logged in within a set period of time. - Don't quote me on that.

Dota 2 has 65million + UNIQUE players this month, just so that you know those aren't duped accounts ;)

Intel core i7 930 OC @ 4.0 ghz

XFX Double dissipation Radeon HD 7950 356 bit 3gb GDDR5 OC @ 1150 MHz core + 1575 x 4 memory

Triple channel DDR 3 12gb RAM 1600 MHz

I'm usually logged in daily but only play a couple times a week

PC gaming is Niche! It's not like there are more graphics cards sold by Nvidia alone each year than any console...

Intel sells even more... People often "buy" gpus because they are already in their PC and they don't use it ever for gaming.

The problem with steam numbers is, there version of an active user is someone that logs in and as the default for steam is to startup when you turn on your computer it basically means anyone with it installed is active. I login every time I start my computer and am basically active most of every day, yet I have not played a steam game in 6 months. MY sister and my mother both have steam accounts and neither have EVER played a steam game yet they will be active users (set it up for them in case they ever needed)

How do they define an 'active user'?

Valve's definition of an active user:

1) User must have purchased something ever

2) Have logged in within the last 30 days

I dont see how this is relevant news at all.

Everybody I know who ones a 360 has xbox live subs. I know a lot of people who have steam accounts too, myself included, and we haven't brought games off there in years...

The sad part is that Dota2 is the most popular game by far yet there are games on XBLive with more concurrent users than Dota2. I love PC gaming, but it's really getting dominated by F2P games at the moment.
