Sony own all the IP, so studios would probably be shut down and the IPs sold to the highest bidder.

Me too! Well at least for naughty dog and Ratchet and Clank games! They are the ones I like the most.

Why? Japanese games can't sell on Nintendo consoles? Dragon Quest sells quite well on Nintendo consoles

95% of games I like on PS are multiplatform so I wouldn't care.
