It's not about what Lawlight meant. No one here wants to diminish GTA's sales. Lawlight is known for interpeting things extremely... literally... in certain cases. It seems the favor is now simply being returned.

And of course, Nintendo fans get defensive when people start talking about unbundled sales records, as though, "It was bundled" can diminish the sales success of a game... I don't think I have to spell it out.

Wonderful 101

Edit: You guys are missing the point. I guess it would be more right to say highest sales for a game not coming from a bundle, but I thought most people would understand what he meant

Of course being bundled doesn't diminish the success of a game. For example, if Sony bundled, I don't know, Fantavision, with every PS2 out there and it sold 160M, could  anyone say that it was not a success?

Wow Beyond Two souls is doing pretty badly.

David Cage is going to need to come up with something different to keep hes sub-genre alive.

Really? That's less than a 50 percent drop. That's really fucking good. (EDIT: And by that, I mean "not that bad" - don't know why I exagerated there).

You'll notice Nintendo fans don't exactly proclaim Face Raiders one of the best-selling games of all time.

Wii-U holding surprisingly steady in the USA & Europe. Price cut seems to have really worked over here. I won't say it worked "wonders", but it's still a massive improvement. Kudos to it.

Sadly I have trouble believing 3DS is up 10% in the USA the week after Pokemon. By no metric does that make sense to me.

Vita still ghosting along in the west. Deary me. Valhalla Knights didn't open too hot either; though stealth release and higher digital sales for a niche game. I hope it did alright for XSEED.

edit: Beyond seems to be doing alright actually, especially considering reviews.  I imagine it'll mostly sell with legs anyway.

USA first week : 132k
USA second week: 46k

(132-46)/(132) x 100= 65.1% drop

What? 2DS launched remember? it had one day sales FW. Remember 3ds price drop in US. It sold 50k+ with the price drop on a friday i believe then next week sold 90k+ ! (no game releases)!

Its not that hard to believe, pokemon XY should be overtracked however. its at 2mil us here but i say more like 1.6mil sold imo

Oh my bad. I misread the chart.

In the case of the huge Nintendo games, none of them were really "only bundled a little", if that's what you mean. In the end, you will probably be able to look at GTAV as the second highest selling game of all time anyway, bundles or not. Only surpassed by a game that was bundled with almost every single Wii console available.

True, supposing it sells another 10 million (it probably will). Like I said, my own objection to this is not meant to diinish GTA's success. It's just a poke at Lawlight.
