Forums - Gaming Discussion - ANOTHER Industry Report Says PS3 Will Win

CLICK HERE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is another report that says that the PS3 will win. I personally think it will win, as many other research firms have found what I have. 360 will be almost as good as the PS3, but the PS3 has the BD player, it will have a lot of great exclusives (more than the 360, anyways), and it has free online. The Wiis will start collecting dust, as many people have noticed that about their DSs. With a lot of people who own DSs and PSPs selling off their DSs because they don't play them anymore. (I personally know two people that have done this) Here's the total numbers they said: "The cumulative WORLDWIDE sales for each platform as follows: Sony PlayStation 3 2006: 1.0m 2007: 19.5m 2008: 35.5m 2009: 50m 2010: 62m Xbox 360 2006: 10m 2007: 20.5m 2008: 30.5m 2009: 39m 2010: 46m Nintendo Wii 2006: 4.0M 2007: 10.5m 2008: 16.5m 2009: 21.5m 2010: 25.0m" And: "MARKET SHARE (rounded) 2006 PS3: 7% 360: 66% Wii: 27% 2007 PS3: 39% 360: 40% Wii: 21% 2008 PS3: 43% 360: 37% Wii: 20% 2009 PS3: 45% 360: 35% Wii: 20% 2010 PS3: 46% 360: 34% Wii: 20%"

There has been only one researching firm that said the PS3 will lose, which was Merryll Lynch. Merryll Lynch also said the PS3 will launch with a price of $800, and it will stay at that price for two years without a single price drop. What FOOLS!!!!!!

Not true Plenty of research firms and people in the industry have predicted that the 360 will win, or the Wii will win, or the PS3... You can find a report to match whatever outcome you wish so don't put too much stock into them. What is important is well thought out predictions with research and/or logic to back them up. I find this one especially hard to believe giving the initial PS3 sales

i agree with sieanr its more like the opposite, pretty much every research company think that either the 360 or the Wii wil win. This is like what, the 2nd company ever that says such a foolish (yes i said foolish ) thing. There is just no way that the ps3 will win, and anyone, even jessica simpson, can think of the reasons. Just look on this forum for instance, there are enough facts proving the exact opposite of what you said, atleast have some fact based arguments, this is just pointless fanboyish talk. Learn your facts next time before you say such a foolish thing like this kkthxbai /flex. i think this calls for a new word, Phailance, copyrighted.

It was 133 million worldwide totals for the PS3, Wii, and 360. Well, will you please list some of the ones that say the PS3 won't win? Here's a couple different ones that say the PS3 will win: Datamonitor Research and Markets Yankee Group Wedbush Morgan In-Stat Here's one that says the Wii will win: VIDEO ON GOOGLE!?!?!?!?!? Here's the 360 one: Merrill Lynch Well, we'll just have to wait...

Including that one from the first post, that makes: PS3: 6 Wii: 1? (It's just a video, but they tried, LOL) 360: 1

Well I thought they had the numbers for each years sales, not the cumulative sales per year. Still, they are predicting 18.5 million PS3's sold this year, which just isn't happening even if GT5 and MGS4 launch this year(which they won't) I remember reading analyst perditions on how the PSX would fail and the 64 or Saturn would dominate, so I honestly don't feel like finding analyst predictions since I think their relatively irrelevant. As you said, we'll just have to wait and you can find them by yourself with Google or just look through some gaming blogs(new analyst predictions come out at least once a week) But I would like to know where Merrill Lynch said the PS3 would launch for $800. They did say thats approximately how much it cost to produce(which is correct), but they also predicted in Nov. '05 that it would fetch $500, which was partially true. I put a hell of allot more stock in predictions from people in the industry as they actually know their head from their ass.

It would be extremely hard for Sony to make 18.5M PS3s by the end of the year, but we'll just have to see. Analysts also thought that the PSP would win the handheld war (They didn't count how Nintendo has owned that market for nearly 20 years), and look at it now. But now a lot of analysts are thinking that the distance between the PSP and DS is going to shrink in the coming years. And Merrill Lynch said that the PS3 would cost $800 to make in spring 06 and would drop $320 in one year, but they said around that time that the PS3 would sell for $800 for two years. (They seem contradictory to me) Well, these people are paid to analyze the market, and they have to analyze what the trends of the people that buy them are, what types and quality of games have come out for similar consoles, and many more things. (This is what I do, but I don't get paid ) Well, we truly never know what will happen until the time comes, but when there is an overwhelming support of one console (most say it will be close), you can't just let that information pass.

Where do they pull this from? "Well, the PS3 only sold 1 million in 2006, and some of those are still sitting on shelves, but we predict they'll sell 18+ million in 2007. The Wii? No. We know there's a lot more buzz about it, and some gamers are still trying to get one but can't find any, but we don't think it'll do too well in 2007." I claim the Dreamcast will sell 100 billion in February 2007, thereby making it the most popular gaming console ever! (Yes, I'm just making stuff up now, but so is that website.)
