Titled should be changed to
"PullusPardus quitting Hardcore gaming is the best thing to happen to NaughtyDog/Uncharted fans in a long time."
I didn't read the OP BTW, but I bet it mentions Uncharted in a negative fashion.

I've replayed Uncharted plenty
I've never played a game like Infamous
Far Cry 3 was super non-linear and the camp assaults alone would've made a great game with how many ways they gave you to approach them
OT: Feel free to play whatever you want I just needed to point out that a simple "imo" wouldn't have gone amiss. Yeah that's why I try to visit my gaming sites once in the morning and once at night to cut down on wasted time. The only bad thing about having blinders on as far as what's popular (which I do) is that there's very few people to share those experiences with. No one that I hang out with even knew what "Beyond: 2 Souls" was, but they all wanted the next 2K basketball game.

I didn't say anything about that, In fact I'm saying the opposite. |
You're basically dismissing all those games that you don't like. Games like Far Cry 3 may require you to kill certain amount of things to progress (it really doesn't but whatever) but the idea is that these things are fun and it rewards you for trying different things. it's not perfect because there might end up being some griding, but that's because its not a perfect game, not because the whole game is rubbish
I like a variety of games not just so I can say I like them, I just enjoy playing those games. You seem to think that all mainstream Western franchises are crap and we are "immature Manchilds/Hipster chikz/Neckbeards" if we do like them.
Thanks
Uhh what. There's nothing to quit..or.. join. There's no hardcore or casual gaming club. You just play the games you like. I don't get this thread at all.
I've kinda done the same, and I agree.
I've started only playing what I want and when I want, rather than playing games to kill time or add them to my "completed" list.

Yeah, I agree with you. Having less time myself, but that's not why I would never want to be called a "gamer".
I just hate the fucking sense of... Arrogance? Entitlement? I don't know the right word, but I feel more and more people are having meta conversations about gaming than actually just shutting up, playing games, and having honest conversations about games. It's also promoting what I consider to be unhealthy habits. Playing for excessive amounts of time, collecting achievements, pwning each other. I just don't want to be associated as a gamer if that's the image gamers try to create. |
That man is sad, so very, very sad. Working 9-5, having a job you hate and all that, yeah, I can agree with that being bull shit..but too ignore it and just focus on escapism makes you no better then a drug addict.

you're right.
Welcome to casual gaming. We play games like FF with an online guide and have fun. We play games on consoles, handhelds and smarthphones/tablets.
Playtimes go from 0 to 10-15hrs a weeks/month and there's no need to stress or 100% every game. If we don't like, we don't like.
Have fun!
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
