So really its just the water then. Disappointing.

Look closer. The textures are much sharper, the view distance is longer, the shadows are much better. Pause the video at about 0:57. The detail of the rope on the steering wheel (sorry if there is a nautical term for it I am not a sailor) is much more realistsic looking on the PS4. You can even make out the facial features further away. It is a marked improvement.

Yeah, I saw noticaeable improvements. I think some of you need to expand the bid and put it in either 720 or 1080p.

LOL yeah. At first before the video actually rendered in 1080 (can take a second for youtube to catch up) both looked really crappy. But once I expanded the vid and watched it in 1080 the differences popped out. It really does look better than the PS3 version.

I could see a difference, but it was fairly underwhelming. Maybe some of us are expecting too much from the new gen.

Like what lol? For a launch title that is being developed along with last gen hardware I'd say the changes are gravy. Once devs get more familiar with the hardware and leave behind the last gen ports we'll start to see even better graphics... But then aren't we really looking for that uncanny valley or just crisper textures and better overall performance in our games? I know that's my expectations.

yeah it was...maybe I should sell my X1 pre-order to my brother in-law if this is all the diffrence is going to be for the first wave of "next-gen" systems.  Looking for those small diffrences to justify a $500-$600 ($450-$500 for PS3 tax with a game) just doesn't seem worth it.  Honestly, I think I might wait until the real next-gen games come in b/c I could play some of those games on my X360s anyways!!!

ummm...to justify at least a $450 purchase for some would require more than just better rope textures and such.  Seriously, I was expecting a lot more...probably the reason why Ubi delayed WatchDogs.

It looks like they didn't bother messing with the character models on next gen. They just improved the smaller things.

I figured that the superior power of the PS4 would have done more than simply increase resolution, add other physics and pretty weather effects. This is suppose to be a next gen console.....

There are people here that are saying not much of a jump in quality of games because of a port of a current gen game?  It's not like Ubisoft is going to completely remake the game to take advantage of the next gen consoles.  They're just upscaling the game to have better resolution, add some extra effects, etc.  Assassin's Creed 4 might be running a bit better and look slightly better for next gen consoles, but it's not taking the next gen consoles much of anything  to do so.

I for one clearly notice the difference, even though small.  I took a screen capture of one part of the video.  Maybe this will help those of you out who don't notice the differences.

Now, a few posts on the first page have already stated they notice the water.  On the PS3 version, aside from the character in the background, notice how literally everything is far more blurred.  The character in the foreground, the cannon in the background, the railing, the poles connecting the railing to the floor.  Because of the shadows and colors, the character in the background is the only thing on the PS3 version that doesn't look blurry because of lower resolution.

I just hope that MS or Sony or 3rd parties don't start gimping current-gen systems so that they could push everyone to next-gen systems prematurely.  I am seriously thinking of holding off my $500 pre-order as I do need the extra cash for Christmas shopping for other people other than myself!!! On another note, I wonder how much I could flip my pre-order if I did pick one up on day one...just wondering?

I see it now...but hopefully it would be more noticeable in person; as the the games in motion tell a better story than static screenshots do.  It took a lot of explaining what the diffrences are and that isn't really a good thing for now.
