Really digging the direction KillZone is going. Mercenary was a great game for a "spinoff" but the bits I really liked about it (multiple ways of taking on a level etc.) look like they're being incorporated into Shadowfall too. All I can say is BRING IT!

Well let's see the term nigger has nothing to do with being black.  I take things as their literal definition not what certain people in society take them as or use them as.  Sort of like Jap is just shorthand for Japanese and it shouldn't offend anyone when I use it as such.

see just a variation of negro for english.  Just because it's commonly used to mean one thing does not change the definition or make that intent the universal intent of using the word.

Derogatory nature of a word is based on context. "Bitch" simply means female dog, but if you say "Don't be such a bitch" it is still profanity. You know you are not a female dog, obviously. Yet it is offensive to demean a person by deliberately calling them something outside of their name.

N-word and Jap, are widely seen as offensive to the group of people they would be steered at, because it was used as a way of dehumanizing them. They have taken on extra meaning in this front.

Higs I imagine would be no different to the Helghast. Its short nature adds a almost "insignificant" like tone to them. In decent conversations about the helghast I bet they would not use this term (just like you wouldn't with the above examples). It reminds me of how some military refer to middle easterners because US is currently in conflict with them."Towel Heads" and "Sand-N" etc, as if its ok because we are fighting them. Regardless of them being the opposition, they are still people :P
