Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Wii U worth buying?

But of course. How else are you supposed to play The Wonderful 101?

Yes, if Super Mario 3D World is amazing. If it isn't, wait until next year when a ton of exclusives come out.

Add me! :)

If you like Nintendo games, then simply put, yes.

If money is an issue though, you probably will be able to find some Black Friday deals or there will inevitably be another price drop next year.

No. Reasons why:

-Ps4 and Xbox one coming out soon are much more powerful. Everyone knows power = fun.

-The Vita is currently available.

-Ratchet and Clank Into the Nexus coming out soon will provide you with 100+ hours of entertainment.

-You can get a Wii for like $40 to waggle all you want.

Not sure if serious because of the first point... ._.

What kinds of games do you like, and how do you like to play them?

I can't answer your question unless you answer mine.

I have owned every Nintendo console & HH since the GB & N64. I have always been a Nintendo fan but haven't been into games lately. I didn't even buy a single 3DS game this year besides New Leaf.

I like all the types of games depending on the quality. I have no specific genre. I like multiplayer games most like for 2+ people which is why a Wii U would be my best option for a game system. I just don't know if I should get any more gaming systems in general. If I did get one, Nintendo Land, Wii Party U, Pikmin 3, and 3D World would be on my to get list. I just don't know if I'm done with gaming or not. Gaming seems really expensive too now that I'm older. It's obvious I am already interested or I wouldn't ask the question. I just don't know if it's worth my money. SSB4 would be another game I'd probably like considering Brawl is one of the few games I still play now and again.

It depends on what games you like, for me personally TW101 alone makes the console worth while, if kids come visit you often then Wii U should be your first option,if you do want to get it buy the NSMBU and NSLU bundle

bet with ash3336 he wins if Super Mario 3D World sells less than Mario Sunshine during the first three years, I win if 3D World outsells Sunshine's first 3 years. Loser get sig controlled for 3 months (punishment might change)

Do you doubt the WiiU? Do you believe that it won't match the GC?

Then come and accept this bet

I'd probably just wait in that case if money is an issue. There are almost certain to be Black Friday deals and/or another price reduction next year as it sounds like you're not that enthused about gaming in general.

Money wouldn't be an issue if I get it for Christmas from somebody else. It's more of $60 a game is a bit much to me considering I never bought a PS3 game as it was my brothers system. (He'd buy them) I only have experience with buying new games for $50 or less.

I just don't know if the "fun" is worth $60 a pop...

If you're a casual gamer and are ok with owning a machine that will pretty much only feature Netflix and Nintendos first party offerings, then it's a great deal and perfect for your needs.

Even though I am a Nintendo fan, I would have said no if not for the newly announced NSMB and NSLB U bundle for $300. Considering you get the 32 gig console, plus 2 games for $300, I'd say that Wii U is finally worth the money, especially if you're a huge fan of those kinds of games like me. I've been a Wii U critic since day one, but this bundle is enough for even me to take the plunge..

But basically if you like Nintendo's games, particularly platformers, party games, with a touch of Gamecube style games like Zelda WW and Pikmin, Wii U is a no brainer. If you value graphics and cinematics more, or FPS or violent games, perhaps it's best to get PS4 or Xbone.
