Interesting! But makes sense. Since the entire disc is installed, and the original plan was to treat a disc installed game as a digital game, the data should be exactly the same. The only reason the disc is needed now is for DRM purposes to make sure you own the game.

Well I think the only way to expand the storage is to use an external drive, so I think you can actually play the games from an external drive rather than just use it as a back up

They arent.  Well at least they arent on the 360.  I delete the game install and keep the game saves now, no problem.  I suspect the ONE will be the same.

You would use an external HDD.

Sony weren't that stupid with the PS3 but they did weird things with the Vita, I can't remember the reason, but it has something to with the fact that you kind of install the game to the console when you put in the card, which is kind of what the Xbox One does as well. I just they keep them seperate AND allow you to copy them. I'm still worried about there only being 1 copy of my Mass Effect save files since some make it difficult to back up


You don't need to install the game on the PS3 to transer it on the Vita because Vita games have no option to install on the PS3. You do however need to be online when doing the transfer. Yes, the Vita has DRM but only when transfering stuff. Stupid content manager.

I will install dead rising and Ryse, finish them... play around on MP a bit perhaps and then dlelete it as I do with my 360.  250gb limit never even got above half of it used, I delete the game install and keep the game saves (which are tiny) just in case.  Why would I leave it there forever?  Your desk at work must be so untidy if this is your attitude. 

People just make shit up on this site to create a problem.

Don't you receive friends at home? I like all my games ready to play because if somebody came at home to play game we can play what we want instantly.

You will use external UBS HDD soon.

My biggest complain (with both consoles) was that I even with a big 1TB HDD I will can have only ~20 games installed... I was thinking to get a SSD what make my situation even worst


ssds are still expensive especially over 128gb and i dont want to have to run a external HDD, im gonna go ahead and upgrade to a bigger 7200 rpm internal hdd that way i get a slight performance upgrade and more storage just hope the 7200 doesnt cause issues with a ps4 b/c i have one in my ps3 since 08 with no issues

Yeah... on PS3 right now all my digital games are installed and all my retail with optional intalations too... close to 200 games installed... I can take picture if you want.

Last time my girlfriend want to play game we played some 10 games that she get interested.

PS Yean you can play while you install... but good part of the game (some ~5-10GB) needs to be installed first... there is no magical, 5GB takes some minutes.

You are in defensive modes... I didn't know anybody that delete the games from the system without the HDD close to be full lol... it is like you saying weeks ago the digital is super fast for you but I showed that even with a 100Mbps internet you need more than 10 minutes do download 7GB.

I can make a pool if you want... you will be surprise with the result... most people didn't delete the games from the HDD... I even don't believe you delete too.

If I'm playing a game and some friend ask me to play with it an online MP for fun... I need to have the game installed... I play a lot of games for fun... my friends ask for online coop a lot of time in shooter and others games... last yeah somebody asked if I can play Killzone 2 with hime
