You do not get to choose the country.  In this hypothetical I have created you might live in italy but you could also end up in Germany.  You have to take all of Europe into consideration against the whole of USA.  I understand its country vs continent but thats the layout for this hypothetical.

awwwwwww, Europe then.

I'd go for Europe, despite the risk of being born in some developing nation. Once I'm in Europe I can move to any country anyway.

Life is so good and comfortable in most of Europe.

I would take USA not even close

I think a lot of Europeans just dislike Americans (and maybe the rest of the world)

The reason is not only because even chinese movers and shakers studied in the usa, but im usa u have everything.

U have japanese, chinese and koreans, u can get everything in usa when u have money.... Also u have silicon valey, u have wall street, u have commodity exchanges.... U can much easier find people who think like u..

Shareholder culture in europe are dozens of years behind USA, Even online banking costs like much more than in anerica...

USA u can still Open a garage shop, in europe all the paperwork is hilarious

I am from the UK and if you cant choose the country in the EU... then it is the USA. There is no way I could live in certain European countries.

Your right, I switch to USA.

seriously i honestly believe in america its easier to find people who like you, didnt jack ma and the yahoo guy also meet in the us???

Anyway i really maybe its just a cliche but i really believe, in business and in private life america is better for findind people like you...

Also another plus point, every region you go you can speak english, im sure people are in general a bit different were you go in america but you can always talk to them... if you move in europe you always have to speak other languages...

no seriously usa is best in my opinion.

i mean you can see the natura of alaska and speak english, you can go to malibu and speak english, man you can even go ginseng plantation in the us and speak english...

you can go to texas and speak english... really its so great to communicate with so many people, so you really can absorb the culture of those places

What is it about the USA that causes you to select Europe?  Most people in the USA have comfortable life.  The GDP per capita is higher that most EU countries, so on average you are likely to be wealthier in the USA.  Or is it for other reasons?

Well, for starters I'm European so I guess it's what I'm used to.

I don't care for things like death penalty, gun ownership, private healthcare and things like that. Here in Japan I've been to the doctor and seeing a cashier in a hospital just boggles my mind, I always forget to pay until my wife reminds me... It's not like healthcare quality is better either in my experience. The social security is very good and reassuring in Europe, so for example when there was no income in my household (I come from a working class background), we got about $1000 dollars a month until we sorted things out. We also got an apartment for $300 a month from the local government. Now we have good jobs and had to return that through taxes, but it was nice having that and being able to move forward.

Some people may think that encourages laziness and I understand that point of view too. But what can I say, I rather be taxed a lot and know that no matter what, I'll always be able to have some income and if I need heart surgery I won't have to worry about insurance, money or whatever.

Also, I have the feeling that America is a bit too conservative for me. Not in cities like NY, LA, Chicago, etc. but in some other areas. I don't care for debates about religion, abortion, gay marriage, etc. Of course we have some debates in Europe but not to that extent. We kind of don't give much of a fuck.

Being able to move freely between countries is also pretty awesome and allowed me to learn English, find better opportunities, live different experiences and have friends from different backgrounds, etc. Going from London to Paris in 2h by train and seeing different people in such different places... it's really cool.

As I said, the image of America I have might not be the best, although I have a few American friends here. But, from personal experience, I like Europe and I believe life is really good there. So that's my biased opinion.
