You guys are missing the point.

What happens to early adopters when Kinect is dropped? Do they just get left in the dust? Does Kinect become a useless accessory with no support?

Did the first Kinect become a useless accessory with no support? No. In fact, I would bet you have made posts on this very forum about how MS supported the Kinect too much down the stretch. So why would Xbone Kinect support be any different? Especially when its use is entrenched in the system itself.

Because it's not NEW anymore. The novelty has worn off.

And yet the games keep coming.

Kinect didn't sell solely because it was a new hardware. It sold because it was a new way to play.

Kinect 1 is not as precise as the new one and it looks like the industry gonna fully take advantage of this one. Hell, even Sony redesigned Eyetoy to look like Kinect.

I see a lot of people that won't even buy a X1 interested in the dissapearence of Kinect 2.0.

Honestly i dont expect them to drop Kinect as it is a selling point for XBO, not a liability.  Plus XBO is selling for a profit. It isn't "The all in one, Xbox One" without Kinect. Regardless of what the numbers say and who sold the most, XBO will likely be making more money than PS4 unless the attatch rate is super high for PS4.

plus saying "once the numbers come in" isn't the best thing to say either because you dont know what is going to happen either.  What if they come in and they are really good?  What if they come in and all the sudden the mainstream excepts the XBO with open arms?  What if Kinect 2.0 helps make XBO explode?  What if Xbox Fitness helps move it along?  We really dont know now do we?

As of right now the only thing we do know is that XBO  has a high amount of preorders.

People focus too much on the sales of X1 in relation with Kinect. MS will probably make money of the machine from the get-go and marketshare is far less important than profit. So, if they would sell at half the rate of PS4 but make twice the money, why ditch Kinect?

MS knows they will have no problem selling the X1 at $500 for the launch and first 6 months at least. So they went with a price that will allow them profit from the start. Kinect doesn't cost $100 to make. In some ways the new Kinect is less costly then the original (no motors). So looks to me MS is in better position to lower price for when more cost conscious shoppers look to buy. I expect next year at this time X1 and PS4 to be much closer in price and MS to be more profitable.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Objection, This man has mislead the witness and is assuming.

Order in the court!

On other news. PS4 shoots flaming rockets at users. (RUMOR)

did you get your answer?

Will never happen! NAVER!
