Nintendo has conditioned Nintendo gamers to not like third party because they've never worked with third parties the way they deserve to be worked with and this is echoed throughout the gaming community.

Third parties conditioned Nintendo gamers not to buy their games by releasing sub-par titles.

Besides which, in your haste to bash Nintendo, you're missing the point; having a smaller player base does not justify treating that player base like crap. If it is delayed, it will be because Activision are arseholes.

What the hell are you talking about? Before and even into the GC era Nintendo had superior or on par graphics to the competition. It was the format that lured them away. They didn't get crappy ports. Its how they deal with third parties that turns them off. Somtimes its about the console power, sometimes its the format or even politics. As third parties grow Nintendo stays in their own world and cares not to share in their growth.

The sub par games on the Wii and Wii U are not excusable by hardware power, because you can make high quality games without high end graphics. And 99% of third party Wii/Wii U games don't even make good use of the resources those systems have.

Third party didn't want to make sub par ports so they didn't port at all, which will be their issue with the Wii U (and is already Epic's issue with Nintendo already). Nintendo didnt get with the times. THey stay in their own world. You shouldn't force others who are worthy partners to break their backs just because you choose to be superior or inferior without giving them the heads up on your tech. You know Nintendos history, they are a very controlling company and when they aren't being that way they are extremely selfish in their communication.

Third parties can still produce quality games on Wii and Wii U, as some did. Hardware differences did not prevent games like Monster Hunter Tri or Goldeneye 007 from being good, and successful.

Problem was, most third party devs were lazy, spewing out garbage that taught Nintendo gamers not to trust them.

Monster Hunter Tri was exclusive. Goldeneye 007 was an upward remake, so it makes sense that. I think what third parties are complaining about was downporting to almost last gen tech everytime which Nintendo is forcing them to do yet again.

I see you guys are S.T.A.G.E.ing a quote-tree mutiny.  Stop it - Kresnik.

Its a risk bringing diablo to consoles unless there is demand. Nintendo is troubled waters when it comes to third party sales so some testing might need to happen.

Iknow what you're saying from a port perspective, and I do not take issue with, say, Besthesda not making a Wii version of Skyrim.

What I take issue with is ports from PS360 to Wii U being poor, or the low quality of the games they do make for the systems. Hardware doesn't necessitate bad games; there were plenty of good games on systems weaker than Wii. (And Wii U)

considering the date it was delayed to (nov 8), wich is the same of the new mario + luigi u bundle in europe, it was probably an intencional strategic delay. the fact that one company did this doesn't imply others will follow. and COR ghosts date is already on the same week as the bundle.

If Nintendo fans have demand for it, it would come sooner. Even on the Wii 100 million (but not so strong) there was very little demand. Thats half the reason Activision or some other third parties wont kill themselves to put certain games on the Wii (and sometimes even PC as well).

COD being on Wii at all proves your whole post wrong.

Truth is up intil COD MW skipped the Wii COD was selling better on it than the other 2.

Activision has nobody to blame but themselves for decreased demand

I stopped buying a lot of 3rd party games on ALL platforms til I see a change in how they treat Nintendo.

Whether its on PC or Wii U, I wont be buying another EA game no matter how high its rated or how much I want it because not only did they flat out lie to me, but they expected me to pay more for less.

Nintendo is the company of my youth and I love them to death but it's on Nintendo to create hardware that people are going to want to own and buy, not EA. During the SNES era, EA fully supported them and that's because Nintendo managed to get consoles in homes that gen.

The worst port I've seen thus far was Ninja Gaiden 3 but the gameplay was superior to all of the other versions. Tecmos funding is horrible though, so I couldn't expect any less if they had to make another game without some sort of outside funding. Batman, Assassins Creed 3 and some others turned out fine I am sure, but I am willing to bet somewhere in there lack of demand for their games is causing them to halt when they approach Nintendo now. It's the conditioning of the gamers to buy their third party elsewhere and its been going on for years. The hardware will easily be out of reach for most companies to invest in downporting once the next gen HD Twins hit the ground running. I understand that there are plenty of great games weaker than the Wii (in the case of the PS2, Xbox GC generation which the Wii was more akin to) and the Wii U (which is more akin to the PS3 & 360). The reasoning for that was either politics (EA), lack of ability to bring out the best in new engines (Epic) and ultimately as Bethesda said themselves "The time for convincing third party developers port to the Wii U is over because the box is out." (loose quote from how I remember it. You can use that quote in a search engine.

No way, CoD would be in the red if it wasn't for those additional Wii dollars.
