Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo missed opportunity again by not bundling NintendoLand with NSMB.

Everytime Nintendo marketing takes a step forward they seem to take a half-step back.  Case in point, is the enticing bundles they are currently releasing with WWHD and NSMBWiiU which is adding a well received software and removing one that showcases the potential of what the system can do. I cannot honestly understand why Nintendo is replacing NL instead of adding an extra software (in addition to the current price cut) to the new Deluxe bundle?  I doubt that it would be a financial drain for them to include a pre-loaded/code for the NL software which would help people understand the Wii U better.  As good as NSMBU is at using the gamepad controller, NL actually showcases what potential future software games would be like using the controller.  Just a rant of my frustration that Nintendo's marketing team is once again incompetent in how to market and expand Nintendo's brand and image!!!

?????

Nintendo is offering great value with 2 games, New Super Mario Bros U and New Super Luigi U, that both retail at 59.99 $ and 29.99$ respectively, an 80$ value, included with the hardware at 299.99$ in addition to the digital deluxe promotion.

This is an incredible value and 299.99$ is certainly a steal. Furthermore, they have decreased the original price point of Nintendoland to 29.99$.

Nintendo is not a charity.

Good points. I'd add that NL has the added benefit of introducing people to franchises they might not have ever tried. I've seen numerous comments in the Pikmin 3 community on Miiverse stating that they liked the NL Pikmin game so much they got P3. I have to think it will help Metroid and a few other classic franchises down the road that have a core audience but maybe not the name recognition with the masses.

yeah it's a value, but Nintendo Land showed what potential assymetric gaming had, NSMBU and NSLU simply mirror what's on the TV, which doesn't really showcase anything, it's just like playing NMSBWii just in HD and seeing the game in your hands. that's it. Nintendo Land showcased lots of really cool things that simply couldn't be done on anything else.

I am not asking for handouts!!! I am trying to imply that again Nintendo could have added NL without any real cost to them (as I doubt dev cost have not been covered by NL already) while showcasing what makes the system diffrent from other next-gen consoles!!!  I am not disputing the fact that those other bundles are good; it's just that THEY COULD HAVE BEEN A HELL OF A LOT BETTER if they didn't cut corners and included a game that would have cost them nothing.  The rewards would have been given back to them three-fold!!!

Nintendo should burry Nintendo Land, stop selling it, stop talking about it and pretend it never existed.

Wii Sport was such a system seller, Nintendo Land is an extreme failure. With the NSMBU bundle, the Wii U is finally packaged with something people care about. Nintendo Land has to disappear.

You and savinsin hit it on the nail!!! Why the hell did they even remove the game and what benefit did it do to for the system and the gamers they are trying to entice to jump on?  If they had NL, NSMB, and NSLU it would have been a very enticing proposition this holiday for those what want to jump on the next-gen console looking for a great deal!!! Nintendo marketing is clueless once again!!!

It's a helluva lot better than many shovelware out there I can tell you that much!!! Plus including the game doesn't really cost Nintendo anything so why should they not include it?  You want NL forgotten but you don't give any reason why the game should be buried except for your dislike for the game.

Nintendo Land has no appeal for the public. It's just childish, the name alone is turning away people.

Wii Sport was interesting for everyone. A minigame compilation sounding like Diisneyland was an horrible idea for trying to sell the console.

I think its more of an admission that the Wii U gamepad and the casual market that made the Wii popular are both on the decline/already dead. Lets recap.

Ditching NintendoLand in favor of Mario and Luigi
Game and Wario, game that showcases the gamepad well... flop
Wii U Party, abysmal reviews, almost no advertising from Nintendo, delayed the 3DS version to not outshine it
Wii Fit U, comes out next week, no advertising
Just Dance 2014 (pretty much all ubisoft casual games ...JDK, Rabbids Land, ESPN Sports Connection, Your Shape etc, ), all former shadows of themselves
