case fans should the air be blown inwards into the computer on a front mounted fan? so the opposite side of the sticker facing.

and connect to a molex or to mother board.

If a fan is on the front of the case or on the side of the case it should suck air in from the outside and push it to the inside of the computer.
If a fan is on the back/top or bottom, then it needs to remove air from the case.

You can connect it to Molex or the motherboard, on the motherboard you *should* be able to set the fan speeds in the BIOS or motherboard software in Windows.
Molex it will run at full speed unless the fan is Thermal Controlled (Like Arctic Coolings TC fans) or has an adjustment thingy on it somewhere.

The monitor does need to be plugged into the GPU rather than the Motherboard.

I assume you have only a D-Sub monitor? I.E. One of these connectors.

If that's the case you need to get a DVI or HDMI or Display Port to D-sub converter or buy a more modern monitor or check to see if your monitor has DVI or HDMI.
DVI looks like this:

yes, i am using a d sub monitor. I think that may be why the display doesnt show. guess i'll need a convertor. i hope this is the problem, it can be easily fixed rather then disecting the whole computer lol

Well. You used to get DVI to D-sub converters with graphics card purchases. :P
Should look something like this:

You sure your monitor doesn't have DVI, HDMI or Display Port?

And you MUST use this little convertor that came with your graphics card. If you already have one attached from an other card, this will, in general, not work.

Yep, get a DVI cable.
D-sub is analogue, DVI is pretty much HDMI with a different connector.

my gpu connecter is a dvi-i. so i jsut need a dvi cable?
