They put out one new IP after the other because they can't make any of them stick.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

If that is what you think then you don't understand the mentality of Sony. If it sticks, then it sticks, but until then they will be busy creating new options to care. If you've noticed, unlike MS and Nintendo Sony is more nonchalant about what they put on their console and more open to change.

Sure, White Knight Sony for the rescue, they totally do not milk the franchises that they get to stick somewhat *cough* lbp *cough*

If this rumor is true. It'd be nice if Pilotwings 64 is one of the games remade.

Third party titles. Nightmare Creatures, Resident Evil 2, Mega Man "64," WWF Wrestlemania 2000 , No Mercy, Ogre Battle 64, and.... umm. Yeah. Nintendo 64 doesn't have a huge library of great games. |
Respectfully disagree.
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Super Mario 64
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
GoldenEye 007
Perfect Dark
Donkey Kong 64
Diddy Kong Racing
Mario Tennis
1080 Snowboarding
Blast Corps
Jet Force Gemini
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
Turok 2
Wipeout 64
F-Zero X
WCW vs. nWo: Revenge
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
And the list goes on.
The N64 library is weak in terms of RPGs and fighters, but it's super strong in terms of shooters, platformers, and action-adventure games. Plus it hosted the two best games of the fifth generation: Ocarina and Mario 64.

Dude...Mark Cerny was even talking about that as one of the reasons he's worked for Sony so long after leaving Sega in the 90's. They make a little bit of everything and reinvest in what works. They are always looking for something new.

Yeah, they all do that.
MS to a lesser extent, but this is their third generation. They'll probably come into their own this coming gen...maybe.

MS wont outpace Sony because they don't know what they want as a company. Trust me their greatest new IP will be a shooter and most likely the one from Black Tusk. Hopefully Killer Instinct does well enough to continue the expansion of the franchise. We need more fighters. Their fleet will most likely come from outside just like with the 360 through second party funding (IE: Remedy, Crytek, Gears, etc). Sony's first party fleet will continue to grow. As you said before, MS to a lesser extent because they are still down to an adventure game, Halo and a racer, just like their first gen ended. Sony isn't perfect but compared to the other two they are very, very self sufficient as a tech and media company.
The way I see it as far as lifetime development is concerned IP lifetime development quaity is: Nintendo > >>Sony>>>>Microsoft
Current IP development quality: Sony>>>>>Nintendo>>>Microsoft.
Fairly cool if true, nothing wrong with some good reUmaginations.
....
My god that word is cheesy.

And if Mark Cerny says this, it must be true!
