Shit. Caught me off guard. I still haven't finished Trials and Tribulations! Then I have to get through Apollo Justice...!

While it seems that the events in Apollo Justice will be important to this one, I suggest just reading a synopsis or something.

It'd be criminal to skip Trials and Tribulations, though.

I'm on the second case of Trials & Tribulations. I've already bought Apollo Justice, so it's waiting for me as soon as I finish this one. I was getting through them, but SMTIV and Pokemon got in the way.

I had originally planned to also play through Investigations, but that will have to wait until after Dual Destinies.

European release should be October 25th, no? So the midnight release (if there is one) would be in about 24 hours, not right now, like some people were thinking.

It says 24 to me.

  I don't see why I need music

I can see why you can say these things. It's obvious you've never played an AA game before

Trust me. Reading the story will ruin part of the fun. But also, by not listening to the music, you'll miss one of the most goosebump-y scenes in videogame history

And I can see why you don't answer my question, because you can't answer it! As long as I have the jist of the story so far, then there's no reason I can't fully enjoy playing through Dual Destinies the same as everyone else.

I don't think it will affect your enjoyment of DD much, although I will say that playing the older games is a much different experience than reading their scripts. That said, if you're just going for DD, you should be fine. You'll probably miss a few inside jokes from the older games in the series here and there, but it shouldn't be anything massive.

The music for Ace Attorney is utterly fantastic, though. It's probably worth looking up on youtube just to listen to even if you're not setting the mood for anything.

Yeah, just going for PW:DD here. If the game really get's me interested in the series, then I can just stick with it and get the sequels which I'm sure they'll be plenty of.

i been told that ace attorney is a wonderful franchise (by no other than wright) so could somebody explain to me what the game is and how it plays?

Court-based adventure game. Investigate, cross-examine, win. Download the demo to play for yourself.

It's a visual novel, so you read text and press the A button to read more text. So it's kinda like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, only that you are reading instead of watching and the story is actually good.

I thought one shall read by constatly ticking the tactil screen.

Nah, the first few are also on WiiWare/iOS. I think the fourth one is only on DS though.
