Forums - Sales Discussion - Japan Sales - Media Create,Famitsu, & dengeki: week 42 ( Oct. 14- Oct. 20 )

That's not great for Vita. Shame too, had been riding high on amazon.jp for quite a while now.

Massive drops from Danganronpa; Tales & Fairy Fencer too. Although expected from the latter two, since they're normally front-loaded (Tales won't make great numbers).

However, crazy sales from MonHun this week. Restocked? It's having awesome legs. Really nice second week from GTA 5 too.

Rubbish opening from Saint Seiya. Pretty expected from Beyond, for a western game without too much hype. And decent from Run for Money - I wonder if it'll have the same legs as the last game.

P.S. Whoa, just noticed that Wii-U passed that psychological barrier of 3k. No Rayman Legends this week either. Bloody hell.

I wonder why media create reader reviews are so low for Pokemon

Super easy difficulty level. Save corruption bug.

(the review scores stuck to the charts are almost always poor indicators though)

Vita lives and... oh! Sub-3K sales for WiiU in MC! Amen.

Fairy Fencer F fell brutally :( I wonder what the 2nd shipment was...

I would love to see the figure for Rayman Legends. It looked like it bombed in apocalyptic proportions.

Massive drop for the Vita, will get another drop next week. Hopefully it can stay at around 20k till the holidays but it doesn't seem likely.

3DS is smoking hot right now, good second week for Pokemon if the download cards are taken into consideration (and that's without digital sales). 3DS hardware holding extremely well too! 150k for a non-holiday week is amazing. It's now up YoY in Japan in both Media Create and Famitsu, and definitely has a shot at 6-6.5m for the year. The new limited models should do it good as well. Massive 3DS year this has been!

Wii U is bordering dangerous lines though. Really needs something from somewhere, luckily Wii U Party next week, Mario in a month. Delaying the retail Wii Fit U retail release to February is strange considering the digital release is next week. Strange by Nintendo but it will be a very very tough holiday season in Japan that's for sure unless they get a miracle.

great sales for GTA5. What did heavy rain get first week?

Pretty poor stuff from Wii U, and a sharp drop for Vita. Pretty sad really for both.

Pokemon did alright, great week for MH though.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Um Saint Seiya... WTF happened to you??
Rest of the week was pretty much expected
SERIOUSLY WTF SAINT SEIYA!!!

WiiU doing abysmal. Not even the GC performed this terribly during its first year if I'm not mistaken. Anyone has a comparison?

Gonna be a tough year for Nintendo, Wii U has only Mario left to rebound and preorders aren't good either. If Mario doesn't have the effect Nintendo is expecting...

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

25k for Vita is not too bad, considering it didn't have any games released this week. WiiU, wow it needs some serious help.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
