Forums - Sony Discussion - Brazilian PlayStation Plus Out (Little Cheaper Than US)

Have to wonder if Microsoft is eating a large portion of that as a loss then. There's no way to bypass those numbers without some type of loss.

Same deals and games of Plus US.

1 month = R$ 19,99 (~$9)
3 months = R$34,99 (~$16)
1 year = R$ 99,99  (~$46)

It is up right now on PSN Store BR.

PS. No Sony... that don't make the PS4k right... give me a console for 2k.

How is that price Sonys fault though? Sony can't control all those taxes.

ethomaz made a calculation in another thread

ethomaz said:

PS4 $US: 400
II +20%: 480
PIS +1.65%: 488
COFINS + 7.6%: 525
ICMS +25%: 656
IPI +50%: 984

984 without profit for Sony Brazil.

Less than R$2000,00 is CRAZY for any company.

price of a ps4 with taxes in brazil is $984 and not $1,800

I believe Sony is trying to eat some huge profit over us... I can't believe MS is having $900 (yeah dollars) for each console sold in Brazil lol.

I know that some people paid betwen 6k to 8k on PS3 release here in Brazil, but it wasn't an official release. So it's hard to be sure if Sony think we are stupid and will buy a lot for that price, Sony KNOWS there are some idiots (and will sell the small shipment they may receive) or if they sincerely were dumb enough to announce it for this price and couldn't work better on importation. But in no case is acceptable to try this pricing.

PSN BR just accept international credit card because the price come in dollar in your credit card bill

"Outra questão que a Sony ainda precisa resolver também é o uso de cartões de crédito no Brasil. Como a loja online exibe preços em reais, mas cobra em dólares, diversos bancos não aceitam este tipo de transação.

Por outro lado, cartões pré-pagos para a PSN ainda não existem no país, impossibilitando assim que muitos usuários tenham acesso ao conteúdo pago da rede."

I already tried about 5 credit cards (Visa and Master) and some of them are international and I always have the same message: "insira um número de cartão de crédito válido".
I need to subscribe plus to get all those games!

Good for them, though those progressive taxes on the hardware are ridiculous.

The concept of manufacturers absorbing losses on the brazilian market doesn't exist. Ever.

Only small profits and huge profits.
