Even if what you say is true, I dont like it. I consider sony to be the more forward and truth-speaking of console devs so these sorts of underhanded shenanigans dont sit well with me. Hopefully they will confirm this is a third party doing something dubious rather than sony themselves otherwiseI will be pissed.

X360 and PS3 were around 1500~2000 BRL in the grey market (which was pretty much is the only option here). Then, some years ago, MS started to produce the 360 here, which reduced the price a LOT.

Even BRL $ 2.000 is just too much for a gaming console in Brazil

I´m not getting one, not until it prices reach something below $ 1500

Just for comparison, a WiiU deluxe set can be bought by $ 1350 on importers, sometimes less.

you mean a “sony is so nice to us“ psychiological trick? would be interesting to see if you are right. i always thought sony likes this kind of psychology in many situations.

if your post where you said console with all taxes would be $984 is correct, i wonder why they don't just sell it for like $950 or $1000 and ask for what? $1800? that makes no sense at all, it's not as if the console would make a profit in other countries at launch...maybe +-0 without games.

That is a strange reaction to the PS3. You realise they lost a lot of money on each console sold right? They were giving you expensive hardware for less than it was worth. That isn't exactly consumer unfriendly.

What I remember was this.

Our consumers need us to tell them what they need. Translation. Our fans are stupid

Millions are waiting to buy the PS3 regardless. Translation. Our fans will buy anything we put out because they are stupid.

The first part was said by Sony. The second part is how I personally took it. I dont fault anyone for not seeing things the way I did but I also couldnt support them after that.

I was going to get a PS4 til the paid online, I think they have learned not to insult their consumers by now. That is just my main reason and if the online charge changes I will be there next day most like but there is one more issue I have .There are a number of die hard Sony fans that make all gamers look bad with how they act and I dont want anyone to think I am a part of that.

Wow, just wow, dude. This is beyond sad. Not getting to enjoy some masterpieces and have fun on your own or with friends because of some Sony fans. Ok, your life, fair enough, but it's still sad IMO. I personally could not care less about other ps3 fans when I play ps3 games. If people stopped worrying about what others think of them, the world would be a much better place (again, IMO).

Wii U is not officialy released on Brazil.

Via gray market I'm sure you will get PS4 near R$1500.

These $984 is like if Sony uses all the official taxes in Brazil but companies makes deals with the goverment and actually nobody pays the full IPI (50%)... so this numbers is lower... I'm just giving the example that even with full taxes R$4000,00 is almost twice the price.
