If this ends up being the case, how can you support them in any way?? If you do, you only justify this action to them. I didn't get a PS3 last gen because of how Sony lied to consumers and talked down to consumers about it. IMO they said their fan base was made up of idiots who would buy anything with the Sony name on it no matter the price. again MY OPINION but I got that from their own statements at the time.. I might have missed out on some games, but at least to myself, I showed that wasn't the case. I stand behind my decision to this day. Sure I missed some quality games but my integrity is worth more than that to me.

That is a strange reaction to the PS3. You realise they lost a lot of money on each console sold right? They were giving you expensive hardware for less than it was worth. That isn't exactly consumer unfriendly.

The first part was said by Sony. The second part is how I personally took it. I dont fault anyone for not seeing things the way I did but I also couldnt support them after that.

I was going to get a PS4 til the paid online, I think they have learned not to insult their consumers by now. That is just my main reason and if the online charge changes I will be there next day most like but there is one more issue I have .There are a number of die hard Sony fans that make all gamers look bad with how they act and I dont want anyone to think I am a part of that.

The guy just said there are some "good news"... I don't know if it is related to price... can be some kind of free stuff or deal... I don't know... 4000 is crazy... Sony needs to give me a lot of things to make me accept this price.

For 4k they better give me a free Panda Bear with the console... (I know they are chinese, but they are big and cool and they are expensive...)

Any price that's higher than Xb one that is not explained by some major differential in import tariffs (i.e. no fault of Sony's) is spitting in the face of Playstation fans. If Sony is shafting Brazilian gamers I hope Sony has a 0 sales launch week in Brazil, but that's unrealistic, so I hope it has the lowest launch week for any console in the history of console sales in Brazil.

I have to say I 100% agree with you regarding the paid online. It doesn't affect me personally as I already had PS+ but it was underhanded and the only sour note (I can think of) to an otherwise good start to the generation. But the weak Wii U performance and the awful X1 reveal let them get away with it, so I can't see any way around it.

With the PS3 they were very arrogant, but I don't think it was anti-consumer. They were just hyping up the console, but they didn't actually rip anybody off. To me the heavy loss looked like they were basically giving out a early adopter bonus, so you get the expensive hardware early in exchange for driving up sales to a point where the PS3s would become cheaper to produce. That was probably the theory, but neither the PS3 nor the Cell took off enough to make it drop in price quickly enough (but the bluray did at least). But that was just incompetence and arrogance.

The only anti-consumer thing I can think of that bothered me about the PS3 was the OtherOS mess. That was definitely bad on their part. I can see they were worried about piracy, but it was the wrong thing to do.

What are your plans for online this gen? I guess it is down to Wii U or PC. I have a Wii U, but I don't know many who want/have one so I'm worried that multiplayer on it won't be all that great.
