No offense but I don't think you have a clue of what you speak. This KI is looking like the difficulty level to master will not be as great as Tekken to get in but will be mastered quickly by above average players. Once the above average players figure out the game, tough shit for the rest. In Tekken its even worse because the tactics put in for newbs cannot be implemented until close to the end of each round.

Isn't that the case with all games? And I know what I'm talking about as I been playing KI since 97 on Snes. Never conformed with the rest.

KI is my community #1 choice for fighting genre. In terms of technicality and fighting tactics it's still holding up well to modern titles.

I play with people around the world (Latin A., Africa, Europe and USA) and they received the announcement of this KI with enthusiasm.

Isn't what the case with all games? The original KI had a tall barrier for entry so you should know this very well (of course not very tall for people who know how to translate combos into action and create their own combos). That game changed the way Mortal Kombat played for part three and on because its complex yet addictive gameplay. This new game has many entry points for newbs and at the most with spamming they should be able to get a ten hit combo in at the most. Who do you play with and where in KI? I would love to join this community.

Unfortunately, I haven't played the original, so it's not a retro thing for me. But people I know who like games I like seem to be really excited.

Instead of all the expense and work of building the cabinet. Why not get the Fight Stick ?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

The dev said are no finishers or stage finishers in the game.  So no ultimates either.

Not jumping the gun on anything.  This game would be a massivefailure of a sequel on any console when it missing all I posted.

So the game is a failure if it doesn't have those gimmicky finishers? I take it you don't play any Capcom fighters because they don't have them either. I assume you also don't ever watch any high level Evo gameplay since they don't ever do finishers in games that actually  have them. Gameplay > gimmicks

Oh but easy long combos for the sake of long combos isn't a gimmick?  No double standards there at all.

Every fighter has an identity, Mortal Kombat without recognisable characters, fatalities or gore isn't Mortal Kombat anymore, same way Killer Instinct missing most of its identity isn't Killer Instinct anymore.

Evo really doesn't matter for judging on the quality of a fighter and mass appeal, Marvel vs Capcom 2 was a broken mess yet was at Evo for years, Street Fighter III was at Evo for years yet SFIII was hated by most SF fans and so disliked due to abandoning the series identity it killed the SF series for a decade.

It's still Killer Instinct. It just has just been changed to be like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

Ok. Sorry but its obvious your now talking rubbish. You havent read any hands on OBVIOUSLY by your last comment.

The game mechanics are the same at basic level as previous KI games. But Double Helix have added better mechanics involving Combos. Where the players have now got layers of strategy. The game is nothing like Street Fighter. Either do some research, Play the game or just quietly wish you could play it ( which is what is going on here. )

LOL at some of the folks here. C'mon man, let's keep this serious.

I haven't say anything different than what you are saying. You're just assuming that I am attacking the game. Some combos are rush combos, unlike old KI and more like Capcom fighters. There are also move gauges on the bottom of the screen. Arial attacks are more akin to Mortal Kombat with specific characters like Sadira. Good god you guys are paranoid.

I think whats frustrating is that people have been asking for Microsoft to do Rares old IP's and do them well. According to people who have played it and done hands on like CVG the game is good. It works well and looks great.

People are entitled to have their opinion on the character models without playing the game thats fair enough. You dont need to play it to disagree that the game is still KI but still manages to be fresh with added game mechanics.

The game still plays like KI. But now we have more mechanics to learn, which is a good thing. Its not just a rehash. And the best bit is players say its working and working well. The games challenging, fun and above all else a good fighter by accounts.

Surely there is reason to rejoice that Microsoft are taking the IP's they sat on for years seriously.

This is good times. Bodes well for proper Banjo and Conker reboots in the future.

Yep, at its core its definitely KI. Its just a modernized version made easier so casuals can make an attempt at it. I feel bad for them when the above average players start playing as well. I am glad its getting a shot, its that I wish there were some subtle art direction changes. We'll see about the rest of the Rare games. Rare will never be what it was because MS doesn't know how to put Rare to good use. Rare made innovative and new games. It seems like their only value is Kinect and retro hits helping MS gamers appreciate their greater days as a second party for Nintendo.
