Just a sort of tradition... I tend to get my PlayStation consoles with Final Fantasy games.

PS1 with FFVII... PS2 with FFX... PS3 with FFXIII (was quite a wait).

Now I wonder how long it will be if I decided to get the PS4 with FFXIV, as I don't plan to play it on PS3 just yet with the PS4 version incoming.

That's pretty much launch then?

It's gonna be 60 fps 1080p. Should look awesome.

Early 2014, around February for beta I heard. Also, if you do happen to buy the PS3 version then you are eligable to upgrade to the PS4 sku when it launces for free.

We know the beta will be available at launch in Japan. Won't be long after that.
