Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One Truck/Warehouse Tour Impressions! Chicago and Indianapolis RIGHT NOW!

UPDATE: Thread has been modified to hold all Xbox One impressions from those of us on VGChartz that are lucky enough to play one at one of these various truck/warehouse tour events.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember that story about a warehouse in France for Xbox One demos? Well there is one in Chicago going on right now as well! My buddy is there experiencing Ryse, Dead Rising 3, etc. He says there are signs everywhere saying no photography, but I'm trying to get some photos from him of at least the building or something.

His impressions so far: The Xbox One controller is amazing. Ryse was incredibly beautiful and smooth. Dead Rising 3 was hilariously fun with no loading screens so it made it way more enjoyable than Dead Rising 1 and 2.

He will send me some pics here before he leaves. Apparently it is only going on this weekend, so if you are in the Chicago area, get there now!

I'll update this OP with pics, further impressions as he gives them to me. So far he has been blown away. I'm incredibly jealous of him.

Around the Network

Are there any PS4 equivalent events?

Ex Graphics Whore.

That place looks fishy, might check it out tho

It's the Tour. They are doing this all around the country(US).

Yeah I didn't realize the tour involved huge warehouse buildings, I thought it was just the mobile trucks. Or is there a combination of both?

Depends on the city.  They have trucks and warehouses.

I was going to start a thread but I'll post my impressions here of Xbox One. I just got done playing Forza 5 and Killer Instinct on a tour truck here in Indianapolis.

Controller: The controller feels amazing. The finish is smooth but grippy feeling to it. I would say it possibly feels a tiny bit smaller than the 360 controller but not noticeable. The thumbsticks are definitely a bit smaller but grippier so no big deal. The triggers absolutely destroy the triggers on the 360 controller. Not only do they feel absolutely perfect but the rumble feedback is amazing. The bumpers click in and not quite as far in as the 360 controller. They aren't necessarily worse or better than the 360 just different. Last but not least the D-pad. The d-pad is actually a little weird at first. It doesn't stick up out of the controller much at all and has a little click to it when pressing in. It works very well and is infinitely better than the 360 d-pad. I would say its almost on par with the Dualshock d-pad. Dualshock d-pad might be a little more responsive but it hurts my thumb where as the X1 d-pad is smooth feeling. If you see anyone saying the controller is trash (which I have actually seen) then they obviously hated the 360 controller and are huge fanboys. Seriously the One controller feels very familiar after using the 360 controller. If you love the 360 controller you will love this one.

Console: The console is nice looking in my opinion. I know everybody thinks it is huge but honestly it doesn't look much bigger than the 360 console. It will fit nicely in my entertainment center.

Games:
Killer Instinct- This game looks absolutely amazing. Seriously I can't believe how good the game looked. The character models are top notch and rain effects on Thunder's stage are unsurpassed. It played silky smooth and although I kept getting destroyed by some guy I had immense fun playing. Day 1 purchase and will probably be my most played game. I had no issues with the d-pad inputting my commands.

Forza 5- Once again another beautiful game. The cars had very little aliasing or no aliasing that I could see when driving. The car models are absolutely top notch. The interior view was also top notch. The environments were nice looking in 1080p and the game ran silky smooth at 60fps. The track was Laguna Seca so it is hard to give a good review on how the environments can look on prettier tracks.

Conclusion: I have the Xbox One preordered and I tried to go into this with an open mind and no bias. Needless to say I'm very impressed with the Xbox One. Launch games look gorgeous and I'm ready to play. I'm actually excited for next gen.

You're from Indy, eh? I really debated going to either Indy or Chicago to try it... I live in Fort Wayne.

Hey, do you know if they will still be there tomorrow? I'll actually be in town for the Colts/Broncos game and if they are still there, I'll go before the game!

Castleton Square Mall tomorrow 11am-6pm. I won't be there since I have to work but you should definitely stop by and try it.
