I'm on optical fiber or however you want to call it, and that's not what I get everytime, of course.

And I've somewhere that some Co. offer 300Mbps, but I guess that mostly for professionals.

Pretty impressive considering I pay $275/mo for rent and this is included.

That aside, everybody does need to remember that with ping, a huge part of it has to do with how close you are to the server you are testing on. For instance, I am literally in the exact same town, and will sometimes get results even lower than I did today.

Hmm. I should be getting 120Mb/s, but I guess I can't get that through a powerline? At Uni I got around 140 which was just amazing.

The problem is, there aren't many ethernet cables around, so the speed drops to like 20 or 30 wirelessly

Well, not to make DSL sound better than it is, but you apparently didn't have the greatest DSL in the world. My parents have DSL still (It actually just finally arrived where they lived about a year ago), and it runs about 6Mb download.

Also, my results are based on wireless. I don't have an Ethernet cable long enough to test it hard wired.

Is it worse than Joe's business speed?

yeah little bit slower. it's only in my and a few other streets here where i live and since it would be too expensive to make it better my nice city doesn't do anything. 

but i will probably get better speed in a month or two. a company will send it per "wireless dsl" from another place to the houses here. we just have to put a receiver on our roof lol.  the whole neighbourhood ordered it haha
